Personality:
For all intents and purposes, Asher is very much a child in a young adult's body. He's exhaustingly cheerful, blissfully naive, and unerringly resilient of mind. He's quick-witted when he's not intentionally looking to have fun, and when he is looking to have fun, he wants as many people involved as possible. He hates being alone, and vastly prefers to be in a large group of friends.

When he is alone, he is unfortunately quite the lonely person, and though he is creative, that lonesome existence drives him to do something to garner attention - not always a good thing. He's desperate for respect, and despite his actual age, will get quite growly when someone tells him he's acting childish - to the point of tantrum.

He has a distinct fascination with his tail. It's really kind of creepy sometimes. He also has a way of making almost any situation really uncomfortable, though it's not necessarily his fault.

However, this has changed a bit - his time on Gaia, outside of the Garden, has hardened him, a little. Clearly, the childishness that he holds so close, that strange innocence remains firmly in hand, but he has clearly lost whatever form of 'restraint' he used to have. He does what is necessary, and he does so regardless of the demands it may place on his conscience.

Appearance:
See Above

Equipment:
K-Assassin Gunblades ( Level 5 )
Refitted the Assassin Gunblade with two High-Energy output Beam emitters, that will function as blades. Due to high heat index, the beam is only sustained for a few valuable seconds, before switching off again. Internal cooling keeps the blade generator from overheating, and insulation keeps the metal from doing the same, but prolonged activation would overuse the coolant.
+775 DMG Points.
Ability: Surprise Energy Blades: +10% to any STR calculation, -5% to any DEF calculation

History:
Asher wasn't born as Asher. In fact, he wasn't born at all. Asher is a creation, of the legendary Garland - a soulless vessel designed to contain the souls of Terrans after their extermination. However, as the whole world had been saved, and joined with Gaia, he, much like every other Genome, has had a boring, lifeless life. Without a soul, it was quite difficult for him to do much of anything beyond the basic functions that were necessary for his prolonged existence - exercise, fight monsters, eat, the usual. He even took up a job as a 'bodyguard' to a lone Black Mage, who was quite literally backpacking across the continents.

It was in a trip to Spira that things changed, and Asher, as Asher is now, was born. The pair came across the wake of a desecrated and destroyed town, without any explanation or seeming reason. In fact, it was quite the opposite - the chaos that had been there had moved on, leaving this destroyed village as nothing more than a mass grave. It was their first experience with Pyreflies, the brilliant, multicolored bits of life that remained after such senseless destruction. Their movements random, their lights winking in and out as incoherently as life itself left them both transfixed.

Even Asher, who had no soul, could recognize beauty. Even if it was tragic beauty. The Black Mage, Odion correctly deduced that these were the remains of whomever had lived in this destroyed township. Their souls. That was why Asher could hear them. It was the oddest thing - like a million voices whispering into his ears all at the same time, all saying different things, all bemoaning their lives, cut short. It was only then, that the two were able to see the strangest thing.

Walking forward, ethereal feet not so much as creating a ripple on the water of the lake that this village had been seated on. No reflection, barely any light - simply a figure of the same substance as the Pyreflies that lingered around him. Still stuck in what seemed like a daze that neither of them could shake, the being continued to approach, a sad, hurt look on his face. He opened his mouth, wordlessly speaking a story that neither of them could hear. Perhaps it was the weakness of the being, or the newness of his state, but he could barely keep himself contained, by the looks of it.

Nevertheless, it reached out a hand - not to Odion, but to Asher. Without fear, without hesitation, and most of all, without understanding, Asher returned the gesture. Their fingers met for the briefest of instances.

Asher opened his eyes for the first time in his life. They - for they could not be two people any more - were muddled and mixed together, memories, experiences, feelings. All of them were clouded and swirling in a mind, trying desperately to settle. In the eyes of Odion, he could see his reflection, as keenly as if he were staring in to a vanity.

For the first time in his life, he laughed. It was a loud, whooping laugh, that meant so much. He laughed, and it was followed shortly by tears - tears that was shed for the senseless killing here, for the life he'd given up... and the life he was now taking upon his shoulders. As he wept, Odion, though uncertain, tried to comfort him.

Life began anew, for Asher, who, though he had the body of an ancient, he had the emotional status of a child - not to mention, the shattered memories of a village cut short. This left him an awkward - if not amusing - amalgamation of old and new. As his body had not aged beyond his creation, he even looked the part of a youth. Having incomplete memories, and only the muscle memory of his exceptionally old body to keep him alive, he relied almost completely on Odion as a father figure.

He was no longer the body guard he had once been, and Odion wasn't capable of deviating his attention for so long. He was not equipped with the necessary skills to be a father. So, the day came when they made their way towards the only place that seemed to make sense at the time: Balamb Garden.

Fortunately, his heightened physical skills made him all but perfect for his SeeD training - and considering he was already capable with his unique, distinct weapon, he simply learned. Everything. Not just about combat and GF's and all of the interesting ways of the Mercenary, but legitimate things, like swimming and history. Bits and pieces of his broken memories became more focal, allowing him to at least construct an idea of a past.

He graduated his SeeD training with amazing precision and managed to annoy his tester a grand total of six times before the end of the exam. His written exam was not quite as good as his field exam, indicating that, though he was intelligent, he would never have a future as a brilliant strategist. But that didn't bother him all that much - his spirit was far too indomitable for all that.

During his travels, he has met many a scary person - and many a scary foe. It started small - much like his origins - but slowly and surely became the kind of things that began legends. He traveled around various continents, helping those he felt was in need - and even those who didn't really need it, either.

It was during one of his missions that he met a General. They struck a rapport, despite Asher's inability to realize the danger he was in. The two became friends, though Belzera, the demon, made it quite clear that friendship was a dangerous thing to have in their line of work.

Not long after his meeting with the Mid-Boss, he answered the call of the Solomon's Key. It attacked Regent Cid's lands, and though Asher had very little experience fighting such epic monsters, he took to it with all the foolish, determined ferocity of youth. In collaboration with many other skilled warriors, the Key was beaten back, to hopefully never grace Gaia again. It was just unfortunate that Asher's Airship was crashed into the beast, and he had been relegated to a new flight that took him to Esthar.

The land of marvels, and science that certainly awed the youngling. But no marvel quite like the one that a crazy woman taught him. The marvel of murderous intent. Though he rarely reveled in it as she did, she taught him everything she knew about the art of the draw. And the art of shooting people until it stopped being fun. He was technically considered an Akibo Assassin, though he didn't much indulge in the money-for-murder that most of them did.

Despite his new knowledge, it didn't give him a good sense of timing - he missed his Airship. Because of that, though, he met August Krasnow, a Burmecian with a heart of pure awesome. They became close friends - though sometimes Asher tended to get on August's nerves when he interrupted the science-type work that he was so fond of. The two took August's ship back to Balamb, where the boy introduced his Headmaster to the engineer.

It was simply unfortunate that August also imparted wisdom to Asher, who was finally informed of the circumstances of his creation. That his brother - Beis Rhoar - was not his brother. That he wasn't technically a living thing.

Time passed, and though he never really understood why, he took on more missions than usual. Spira, mostly, but one important one.

Dollet.

Dollet was when he learned just how right Belzera was. That there was no place for friendship in a war. On a battlefield. The fight itself was brutal, maniacal, and eventually boiled down to four combatants left standing. Sephiroth, Asher, Belzera, and the Sorceress Blue. For what it was worth, Asher and Sephiroth were winning - when ShinRa unleashed a Blight Monster into the fray.

What happened next was a blur of murder, mayhem, and power that should not have been. When all was said and done, neither side won. Dollet was annihilated, leaving nothing behind but the great Glass Beach.

His powers grew, as did his skill, but his outlook was darkening. Slowly but surely, he was beginning to see the frayed edges of the reality he had been so convinced was good. The SeeDs were a force of justice and helpers of the weak. But he saw that, more than that, they were a business, just like any other. For the right price, the SeeDs would do what had to be done.

Perhaps that was why he'd joined with the Summoner Yuna. Yuna, who brought a demonic, evil creature with her. A creature that thrashed him so thoroughly that it left him brutalized, even with his powerful resilience.

It was that defeat, coupled with the displays of strength by the other Guardians of a summoner - Zero, Buddy to name a few - that caused Asher to do the unthinkable. He injected himself with the Blight, forever altering him, down to his very core.

He fought against Dante, when he attacked his home.

He stood with the warriors against the Solomon's Blight. He survived, despite all odds.

So many 'adventures' that left so much to be desired - until he passed through the Gate.

RP sample:
"Oh my god, Asher, would you quit bouncing?!" Her voice was practically a screech, at this point, though the boy with the black monkey's tail clearly didn't seem to care. He giggled, far too happy to just be home. One didn't understand how they missed it until, well, they weren't there for an extended period of time. Even though he'd been having a hard time coping recently, what with the sudden losses... well, Marie was making things feel better.

She'd even tied a soft pink ribbon around his tail. Though at first he'd objected to the girly color, he wore it proudly, now that it was tied and whatnot.

The Garden, though it was still not in tip-top shape, was at least better than it had been. There were still construction supplies everywhere, and most of the monsters from the training facility were sealed away once more. There was a steady unease between the Garden Faculty and the SeeDs since the Dante Incident, which had nearly cost them all their homes.

The memory of it made him stop bouncing.

That, and the site of an oddly colored man, who was bouncing a ball. His brows furrowed, as he noted the short lady from the day Dante came, as he easily glanced between the two. A small crowd of students and graduates had assembled, whispers and the like passing between hushed lips as people discussed what was going on. The basketball court had been erected as something to help pass the time when the students weren't helping rebuild the Garden.

His nose twitched, as he slipped forward, adjusting his vest carefully. It didn't cover much of his chest, leaving most of his upper body revealed, as the bright red clothing lacked any sort of sleeves to be seen. It didn't help, that the vest barely reached his hips - hips that only just held his pants up, even with the assistance of a belt.

Two empty holsters were secured on his sides, visible to the world. SeeDs were permitted the ability to carry their weapons with them at all times ( especially since the terrorist attack ) but Asher chose to leave the familiar weight in his room. It helped that he could get them in less time than it would take to blink, but alas, it didn't bother him.

"I dun get it." He murmured, trying to make sure he kept Shantotto in view. "What's the point, if all you're doing is tossing the ball through the ring?" He asked. "It seems kind of silly. But also, you know, this isn't really a public facility right now. Did the gatekeeper clear you two?" He added that last bit knowing full and well that Seifer would be a punk about it if he caught wind, and he didn't want his jerkish tendencies to be offsetting for the image of SeeD.

To be honest, he wasn't sure how to react to Shantotto's presence. She'd killed a SeeD member, for all intents and purposes, though he'd used her phoenix down to revive him only moments later. Technically, it was an act of war against the mercenary group, and Asher wouldn't have minded putting the boots to her.

But for now, everything seemed to be rather civil, if a bit... monotonous. Asher practically danced on his heels, leaning side to side.

"If you're gonna keep throwin' that ball, mind tellin' me why?" He asked, softly, a twinge of curiosity in his voice. Despite the fact that he looked more or less like a kid ( a kid with a tail! But a kid nonetheless... ) he clearly didn't have a grasp of the concept of basketball at all. That being said, the only other -ball sport he'd ever messed with was Blitzball, and quite frankly, he hated swimming.

But he liked watching it, so for now, his eyes watched the ball rise and fall, sinking through cords meant to more easily drop the ball in a way that it would not be a chase every time someone scored a point.

His tail swayed. "Ohs! I'm Asher, by the way, a SeeD here at Balamb Garden. You guys come for business?" He asked, quickly, wondering if perhaps that was the reason they'd come calling. They could always use a new contract!

Just in case you get back and I don't get the opportunity to speak with you -

I reworked all of my CA's, and eliminated 10 of them completely. If you don't mind ( and I know you've done work on stuff so far ) could you please take a look at what I've done and see if that's acceptable?

=D
