He considers himself to be a good person. He’ll protect the innocent whenever possible, however, the resurrection of The Great Hyne is his top priority, and he’d throw a billion innocent lives away in an instant if his god willed it.

Personality:
A devout man with a few screws loose.  His belief in his god and black and white way of looking at things often leaves him blind to alternative paths. Alternatively, he is determined to see connections where there are none, believing that Hyne is guiding his path, and that there is no such thing as coincidence.  He acts very logically, and won’t do anything without putting a good bit of thought into it first. However, at the same time, his logic is somewhat faulty. So, despite a well collected demeanor, his actions are somewhat unpredictable at times.  

Appearance:
Standing at 5’10”, and being slightly athletically built, Lorenzo’s looks are rather plain. He has brown hair, short in the back, long on top, and parted in such a way that it falls over one of his green eyes. He would be just another face in the crowd, if not for a few key features that cause him to stand out.  The first, and by far, the most conspicuous thing about his appearance is that he has no left arm. There is no scar tissue, or markings whatsoever, no indication at all as to what may have happened to it. It is as though his arm just vanished about two inches above where the elbow should be.  Lorenzo’s clothing consists of a long brown trench coat. Formerly, this coat was sleeveless, but a long sleeve has been sewn onto the left side, to hide the missing arm. He has armor plates that extend down, out, and back from his shoulders, looking like large fins, or small wings, and similar armor plates over his single elbow. Beneath the coat, he wears brown slacks, and vest, looking almost business-like. Except whatever professional appearance he may have had is ruined by a padded shirt made in a quilted pattern underneath this vest. He also wears a medallion in the shape of some religious symbol.

  • Description: Named for a mythical piece of equipment, this ability refers to Lorenzo’s natural defense against magical energies, which is significantly stronger than most people’s.
  • Damage: N/A
  • Additional Effects: Lorenzo is now under a semi-permanent Shell status. This status renews itself at every third post of Lorenzo's, even should it be dispelled in a previous turn.
    MP Cost: N/A

”Draw” [Supportive]

  • Description: An ability pulled directly from the FFVIII universe, this allows Lorenzo to pull any spell from the opponent’s repertoire, and use it immediately, even when silenced.
  • Damage: N/A
  • Additional Effects: At level one, this ability allows Lorenzo to use any level 1 spell that the opponent knows, bypassing any silence effect that may or may not be on either character. MP cost is calculated normally. Usable three times per battle.

”Bathed in Light” [Passive, Buff]

  • Description: Lorenzo's faith and self-submergence in religious relics has granted him a certain taste for all that which is considered Holy. A closeness to his God.

”Spellslinger” [Passive, Buff]

  • Description: Lorenzo’s knowledge of the arcane increases with each passing day, enabling him to cat spells much more efficiently than possible for most non-mages.

  • Additional Effects: Spells Lorenzo casts now cost 25% less MP.

”Manafall” [Admin-Granted, Offensive, Supportive]

  • Description: Lorenzo targets an opposing enemy and painfully extracts all of their magical energies. This energy is then shot into the air, where the celestial forces of the planet energizes it, causing it to dissipate and rain down upon the battlefield in a rejuvenating Manafall, hence the ability’s name
  • Damage: No additional damage (damage dealt is dependent solely on Lorenzo’s magic stat and weapon bonuses)
  • Additional Effects: Reduces enemy’s MP to 0, restores the allied party’s HP by 20% of the total MP drained. Also removes all negative effects and statuses from allied party. Usable once per thread.
    MP Cost: Leave Blank


”Purify” [Class-Evolution Ability, Supportive]

  • Description: A cleansing power spreads over the battlefield, removing all dark energies, and restoring a natural order to the area.
  • Damage: N/A
  • Additional Effects: All status ailments are removed, and all Black Magic is completely nullified. This effect applies to all combatants, on either side of the conflict, and it lasts for three turns.

”Inominae Padre” [Class-Evolution Ability, Offensive]

  • Description: The Paladin creates a countless number of blades, each made from holy energy, and then shoots the blades outwards, skewering a single opponent.
  • Damage: +200 Magical Damage
  • Additional Effects: Holy element attack, also inflicts the Spirit Break ailment.

”The Eye of Hyne” [Admin-Granted, Passive]

  • Description: Lorenzo gains the ability to sense both sorceresses, and extremely powerful magical individuals. He does this by closing his eyes, anyone who is a sorceress/potential sorceress and or advanced mage. Will show up just as if he hadn't closed his eyes. Only they will appear as blue spectral figures.
  • Damage: N/A.
  • Additional Effects: Whenever Lorenzo closes or blinks his eyes, he can passively detect Sorceresses, those with Sorceress potential, and characters that would otherwise be referred to as “advanced mages”.
    MP Cost: N/A


”The Sorceress’ Font” [Admin-Granted, Activated]

  • Description: Lorenzo can temporarily tap into the deep font of magic normally only available to sorceresses. For a brief period. Lorenzo becomes capable of magic far beyond that of any normal person.
  • Damage: N/A
  • Additional Effects: For 3 turns after this ability activates, Lorenzo’s MP is set to infinite (Magic and abilities cost 0 MP), and his magic stat increases by 750. Usable once per battle.
    MP Cost: N/A


”Hyne’s Lifeblood” [Supportive]

  • Description: Legend suggests that it was through magic that life was created. Hyne used his magic powers to create humanity. As such, magic power, and life force, are essentially the same thing.  With this idea in mind, Lorenzo developed a way to restore his wounds directly using his own magical power.
  • Damage: N/A
  • Additional Effects: Lorenzo can convert MP into HP directly, at a 2 to 1 ratio. 2 MP => 1 HP. Because this is a direct conversion, and not a spell, this ability still works while silenced.
    MP Cost: 2 MP, for every Hit Point restored.


Level 2 Slots:
”Mirror Mail” [Passive, Buff]

  • Description: Named for a second piece of mythical equipment, this ability is the level 2 of Shell Shield and refers to how Lorenzo’s magical defense has become even more heightened.
  • Damage: N/A
  • Additional Effects: Lorenzo’s semi-permanent shell is now replaced with a semi-permanent reflect, which renews at the beginning of every third post Lorenzo makes.
    MP Cost: N/A


”Draw” [Supportive]

  • Description: An ability pulled directly from the FFVIII universe, this allows Lorenzo to pull any spell from the opponent’s repertoire, and use it immediately, even when silenced.
  • Damage: N/A
  • Additional Effects: At level two, this ability allows Lorenzo to select any level 1 or level 2 spell the target knows, and use it immediately, bypassing any silence effect that may be on either character. MP cost is factored in normally. Usable three times per battle.

”Radiating Light” [Offensive]

  • Description: This attack is the level 2 of Bathed in the Light. Now, Lorenzo can harness the Holy energy within him, expelling it outwards in a wide wave.
  • Damage: 200
  • Additional Effects: Holy element damage. Deals double damage if another Holy element attack has been used by any combatant within the last two turns.

”Opal Ring” [Passive, Support]

  • Description: Named for yet another piece of mythical equipment, this ability is the third level of Shell Shield and Mirror Mail, and it refers to how Lorenzo’s natural magical defense has reached its peak, and how he now turns his knowledge towards the offensive.
  • Damage: N/A
  • Additional Effects: With this ability, Lorenzo can now bypass the Reflect status, ensuring his spells always hit their marks.
    MP Cost: N/A


”Draw” [Supportive]

  • Description: An ability pulled directly from the FFVIII universe, this allows Lorenzo to pull any spell from the opponent’s repertoire, and use it immediately, even when silenced.
  • Damage: N/A
  • Additional Effects: At its max level, this ability now allows Lorenzo to use absolutely any spell the target knows, and cast it immediately, bypassing any silence effects either character may have. MP cost is factored normally. Usable three times per battle.

”Saved by the Light” [Automatic, Supportive]

  • Description: The level three of Bathed in Light and Radiating Light. At the moment of his death, Lorenzo’s link with his God grants him renewed strength, restoring him from the brink of destruction.
  • Damage: N/A
  • Additional Effects: This ability restores 100% of Lorenzo’s HP when it reaches 0. It works in a similar fashion to Auto-Life. Effective once per thread.
    MP Cost: 75% of Maximum MP

History:
He was seven when it happened. The mighty Adel, the malevolent leader of his home country, had sent soldiers, demanding that his sister be left in Adel's custody. No one knew why Adel was suddenly so interested in young girls, but considering the pure evil she had wrought upon their land up until now, it was obvious that whatever her reasons were, they couldn't be good. His parents refused to cooperate, and even fought back, killing the guards, and causing Adel to come in person. What happened next would change his life forever. It was swift. It was shocking, traumatizing even.... and then it was over. The image of Adel, the sight of Adel's full powers, forever etched into his mind.

He spent many years studying the history of sorceresses, and the nature of their powers. He learned the legend of Hyne and discovered that sorceresses must pass on their powers upon their death, thus making it impossible to simple destroy a sorceress. He made several conclusions and assumptions during his research. He is currently on a quest with the ultimate goal of killing a great sorceress. His reason for doing this go further than a mere predigest against Sorceresses, although his exact motives are known only to him.

RP sample:
Lorenzo closed the book with a loud snap. Could it be? A nation that has shun all forms of modern technology, and yet somehow still remained among the worlds greatest powers? There was only one possible explanation. Magic. And if this place, this "Spira" was indeed governed by magic, than it may be just the place to start the search... yes, he would go to Spira, and he would learn what he could about their magic. Hopefully he'd get the answers he sought.

If not in Spira, then Midgar also seemed promising. Their "materia" technology seemed to be rudimentary at best, but it was possible that the magic of the materia could serve as a stepping stone to what Lorenzo was really looking for.

If both of those plans proved fruitless, then he'd have no other choice but to go to Galbadia and attempt to learn what he could from this new sorceress that had appeared. This Blue person. But that would prove much to dangerous at this point. He needed to bide his time, and only go to Galbadia when he was ready, or as a last resort.

No, he shouldn't even be thinking about this right now... he had to focus. One step at a time. Spira. A continent supposedly governed by magic and religion. He would find a Spiran magic expert. He would find answers. He would find power. Then, and only then, would he go to find a Sorceress.

This bio is mostly copy and pasted from previous bios, with a few updates. For one thing, perks. He had the following perks in JE2, that don't seem to carry over here.

This bio also does not explain how Lorenzo managed to find his way to the new Gaia. I am unsure if I should explain that through roleplay, or perhaps a journal-like post or something. And I suppose the biggest change between Lorenzo's old bio and this one is that he is still missing an arm.

“Disarmed and De-armed”
--Waking in this new world so very much like his own, Lorenzo finds himself stranded outside of a deserted and run-down orphanage. It doesn't take him long, however, to learn that this Orphanage was, at one time, inhabited by a Sorceress. At least that was one thing this world had in common with the last. Taking an old photograph from within the orphanage, along with a tattered old map of this world, he left, with the intention of finding civilization, and hopefully, finding the woman in the picture. While wandering the wilderness seeking transport, however, he is forced to take refuge from a storm inside of a mysterious tower. This tower turns out to be the lost Centran Ruins, home to the summon-monster Odin. After facing a series of riddles, Lorenzo appeased Odin, and the summoning granted him its power, in the form of a magical spear, as well as a fancy prosthetic arm to replace the one that was lost during his adventures on the previous Gaia. With the threat of Odin removed, the ruins made for a perfect shelter from the storm...
