They're Off the Gate Empty
PostSubject: They're Off the Gate   They're Off the Gate I_icon_minitimeWed Oct 23, 2013 5:54 pm

((I'm just going to have us arrive in Luca if that's cool with everyone? If not just say something.))

K138Y had spent the majority of the boat ride meditating. She had selected an out of the way spot on deck and proceeded to meditate through voyage. Night had fallen early, apparently the captain of this vessel liked to travel at night. He'd mentioned something about luck. Everyone on board was in a good mood though some were unhappy about having a robot on board. But it was easy enough to reason that nothing unlucky would happen since Sin was out of Spiran waters and that was enough to sate any arguments. The ship docked in Luca the next afternoon. When getting onto land K138Y mocked the process of stretching ones limbs that humans often did after sitting for long periods of time then suggested they stick around the dock, there was a small area for resting, to listen for any more gossip.

It was quickly clear that Shinra had not arrived yet, he was coming from much further away. His arrival was still the talk of the town and some blitzball fans were hoping that the games would start while Shinra was in town, once again wishing that Blitzball would go international. For the time being there wasn't much else to listen for. K138Y had gotten a handful of looks and whispers, though Luca occasionally saw machina when the Al Bhed teams were in town. But a robot, a human who did not appear to be of any native Spiran orgin, and what appeared to be a trained pet fox was not a usual sight. Using a bit of what she had picked up from Kilika and what she had heard so far in Luca, K138Y made a suggestion of what they should do next.

"We have awhile until Shinra should arrive, what do you guys think about forming a blitzball team to help out the people? Blitzball means allot to the people of Spira so helping with it would be a good task for a summoner and it might be really fun." She was of course referring to the current need for a practice team to test out the arena. The request was for five people but they had at least three and finding a pair of pedestrians to help wouldn't be impossible right? Though K138Y imagined that playing with balls in water wasn't really something either of her guardians were interested in. But maybe they would be up for some fun.

((Not sure if it counts for my Life Path yet. I am making an appearance and being seen in Spira which theoretically gains renown in the area. I would also consider it Life Path worthy if we do the Blitzball mission.))

PostSubject: Re: They're Off the Gate   They're Off the Gate I_icon_minitimeFri Oct 25, 2013 2:08 am

The trip on the boat was fairly uneventful from where they had been to where they were arriving in Luca, she had taken to laying slightly stretched out in her feral form near the bow of the ship as it skipped across the water to Luca. Sniffing the salty air she would glance back to crew members that moved about the ship in the night. She had stayed out of their way and they mostly ignored her other then the occasional attempt at giving her what they considered a treat, she would sniff at such but turn away from them to continue and mind her own business. A fore-paw dangling over the side of the boat she made little whirlpools that were brushed aside by the hull of the boat and it's wake, when the boat would finally arrive at the port in Luca she would rise and move with Ky off the boat. She hadn't said a single word while they were on the boat, but once they were finally off and Ky had begun to mention Forming a blitzball team she would chime in.

* I do not mind forming a blitzball practice team, but I don't think we have enough players for it.. as well isn't it unfair if someone who can manipulate water plays in a water arena? *

Tilting her head a bit looking at Ky as her ears twitched some, perked high on her head she glanced around at other people passing by and going about their own day.

* Shinra are supposed to arrive today sometime correct? I wonder whom the current president is and if they'll come, or send some ambassador. It would seem unlike a Shinra president to show up themselves knowing how our world had been. Some things are bound to hold close to home in a sense of the word. *

Sniffing at the air she caught scent of some rather delectable scents for breakfast food, letting out a soft sigh and stretching a moment. Their were children around, some seeming to take notice of Ky as well as a fair few noticing herself as they'd dare to try and come close but stayed at a distance still. Having her own bit of fun she would look at them before forming a few small water balls at the tip of her nose and slinging them at the kids, watching as they'd run yelling and laughing.

* hrmm Small things are easily entertained... *

Most of the ride on the boat was kept to himself, as when he could, Zolanius would sit by himself and ponder, with his journal in his hand. He'd review everything that went on in his life, all the while thinking of what might happen in his future. Like the path he's taken as a guardian or his choice of selecting her, K138Y, the mechanical summoner from a different world. Everything about her was so enigmatic, and yet she acted so human. So... Mortal. To his knowledge, machines don't age. They run down, sure, but maintenance allows them to run for decades and even centuries. So he couldn't help but wonder, just how old is she? Had she always been a summoner? Or rather, programmed to be one? Or was she really so alive that free will allowed her to do what she wanted? If the latter, why such a controversial path or religion and danger? All of these questions and more were swarming around like insects, each one buzzing with inquisition. But that was why he carried the journal around. All questions, facts and opinions would be put down on the pages, and the Raven Shade would help him ignore the more trivial things and keep him on track.

Once he set foot on Luca, Zolanius was filled with a sense of relief and relaxation. A beautiful town, with sensible people and buildings actually made of stone! He couldn't have left Kilika any sooner, and he was more than excited to look around. First, however, he had his own order of business to attend to. And that was securing some jobs. Zolanius took note of the blitzball idea but at the moment he felt more inclined to work on more personal matters than team sports. "I would love to play games, but, I think I'm going to go ahead and secure some rooms for us at the inn. You two go ahead and do your thing though, I'll catch up." And there he went, walking off into the crowd without even waiting to hear a response. Rude, maybe. But he wanted to hit the bounty board as soon as possible.

Current Event: A Stop In Luca
Current BGM:
To everyone who was Spiran it had to be stated right now that Zolanius sucked as a guardian. Never the less the group which now consisted of Rena and the Robot  Summoner would now be in Luca at the height of blitzball season. There were a lot of people in the city that would not otherwise usually be here. The Al-Bhed for example, these people whilst native to the Spiran region stood out from the crowd not only because of their awkward dress sense but because they were eying up K138Y as if she was something that they’d like to take apart.

There was no Fayth here but Luca was a cross over point on the way to the Djose Temple. There was no boat or land transport that could shorten the trip and unfortunately it would be on foot from here. It was advised though that the summoner at least enjoy her time in this city as after all…it would be a long time following this before she saw any semblance of civilization again. Interestingly enough this was precisely her idea, and if she wanted to join in the Blitzball festivities well that was perfectly fine as word on the street was that they were looking for new teams to test out the arena.

The only issue however that Rena was and K138Y were on their own at this point, and a team had to be more than two people. Luckily for them though! Most people in Luca at this point were fans of the game, and fans tended to know how to play. So they needed to advertise the fact that they were starting a team….though how they would go about getting people to sign up…now that was entirely down to their imaginations….

They're Off the Gate Blitz%20Ball
[ ACTIVE EVENT: Start A Team]

In order to participate in Blitzball Rena and K138Y will need to gather some NPC players. RP advertising the team, set up a stand, take names experiences conduct interviews. Get Rena to wear a swim suit and parade in front of the sign up stand. All these things will work towards getting you a team. The better the RP, the higher the rewards and better the players.

They're Off the Gate Empty
PostSubject: Re: They're Off the Gate   They're Off the Gate I_icon_minitimeSun Oct 27, 2013 12:40 am

After attempting to sign up and finding they needed a larger team K138Y suggested they split up and collect supplies for forming a recruiting booth. K138Y had collected some supplies for the next stage of forming a Blitzball team. A table that actually belonged to a restaurant that wasn't open today, an official Blitzball that she had 'borrowed' from the stadium, two blue bikinis because a sales clerk had suggested that maybe her wearing one would be a good idea as well though K138Y doubted it, two torches made from drift wood, three stacks of sign up paperwork just in case Zolanius didn't make it back in time, several balloons that had been collected from another booth that was just closing, three beautiful seashells collected off the beach, and a 'BLITZBALL TEAM RECRUITMENT TRYOUTS' banner. She set the table up in front of a fountain facing the path that entered to the plaza, making sure anyone who entered would see them first and foremost. The table had the forms set out in individual stacks and were weighted down with the seashells, all three were primarily blue with other colors for a good touch and making them have a similar look to a blue splashed Blitzball. Each side of the table had an unlit torch, since K138Y had no way to light it herself but Rena did, and each torch had balloons tied to it but were closer to the table than to the top of the torch so they wouldn't catch the eventual fire. The ball was sitting in front of the booth where K138Y had one foot on it and was in her dual blue bikini that matched the Blitzball colors perfectly. Rena's bikini, assuming she would wear one, was hanging on the front of the table as an attempt to show more interest to passers by letting them know there would be another girl.

She had already started trying to recruit while waiting for Rena. K138Y amplified her voice so it was as if she used a megaphone. "Step right up and see if you have what it takes to join a Blitzball team!" She had some silly ideas for team names but figured she would run them by Rena or maybe just let Rena name the team all together. She was being awfully supportive in her role as a guardian and there wasn't allot K138Y could do to repay her. "It's the dream of many Spirans to join a team, but few are skilled enough to pull it off. " She singled out a man passing by who looked a bit interested. He wasn't exactly a well built guy but he looked like he would have some speed which was important to have in Blitzball. "You there sir! Yes you! You look like the kind of guy who would dominate in the arena." Wasn't exactly true but he seemed to enjoy the idea, though was wary to approach too close. Probably because she was a machina. "You'll have to pass a test if you want to put your name in with this team. Get the ball from me," K138Y swiftly put her foot under the ball and knocked it up into her hands. "and the spot is yours."

The man smiled a little and thought about it. He nonchalantly shrugged then quickly swiped at the ball in front of him. K138Y went from carrying the ball in both hands to just holding it up in her left. The man had apparently expected his initial tactic to work and was left stumbling a little towards her. He had at least some skill and tried to recover with another swipe upwards which resulted in K138Y side stepping around him and bouncing the ball off his head. She had a mocking look that said things wouldn't be quite that easy. The man took an actual stance, getting serious now that it looked like he might be turned into a joke. He threw a hand for the ball but at the last second dropped into a slide kick that was mean for a sweep. The fake caught her off guard a little, it seemed he might actually have some skill, she tossed the ball into the air as she dropped and reversed the sweep back on him. With both of the on the ground the ball came back down but was more in his grab range than her own. Balancing on her back K138Y kicked the ball back into the air then spinning into a right sided recovery that required her to first end up on her hands and knees then springing off her hands to stand up and catch the ball. He may have been fast for an average guy but her nanobot haste allowed her to move much faster than the average person. Someone would need more than speed to beat her.

She ended with a foot on the guys chest, mimicking the position she had started in when stepping on the ball. The man looked defeated and a bit upset, but he was down for the count for now. Looking around, they had attracted quite a crowd and there was clearly a number of people who wanted to try the challenge. Though there was also a few of those almost hungry looking Al-Bhed, K138Y kinda hoped they wouldn't want to tryout. She dismissed the guy and went back to proclaiming the team tryouts and inviting someone as the next challenger. A number of people stepped forward, Spirans apparently liked the idea of facing a challenge more than they feared machina, she noted that they needed to form a line and everyone interested did so. With back to back challenges, K138Y worried that she would tire if Rena didn't arrive soon.

PostSubject: Re: They're Off the Gate   They're Off the Gate I_icon_minitimeSun Oct 27, 2013 8:02 pm

Glancing to Zolanius as he took off in another direction, saying something about getting an inn and that he'd be back later. A heavy sigh would pass her lips as her tails flicked a little, glancing back to Ky only to find she took had ventured forth in the endeavor of Blitzball. Sitting their for a few moments still she would glance around at people passing by, shaking her head slightly she moved off sniffing the air as she went to find out where exactly Ky had gotten to.

* Look away for a minute and Ky is gone off on her own.. hopefully the Al-Bhed haven't tried to dismantle her... *

She had seen how some were looking at Ky before they got off the Ship, the way they eyed her as if she would be the best thing in the world to take apart and study or re-purpose. She doubted they would do it as they seemed to have a fondness for technology but wasn't one to put it past them either, their love for machines were far reaching after all. Stretching as she looked around more, she continued to follow Ky's scent as it seemed to go all over the place around the city.

* Where did that Woman go.. honestly now every place I’ve been that has her scent seems blitzball related but she's not stuck around long.. *

To anyone paying attention which happened to be very few, she'd be mostly talking to herself out loud, though not louder then the surrounding sounds of the City. It took her another hour at least before she finally found Ky, and when she did she almost seemed to be in a break dance battle with someone while wearing a Bikini. Looking to the small booth that had been set up, she noticed the other Bikini that was hanging there. She had to guess that it was meant for her, jumping up and pulling it down she would shift off out of sight of the group that was gathering. Once out of sight she'd change forms, enough so to even hide her tails completely, still her foot-paws remained as well as her ears. Looking far more human now she'd change into the Bikini and out of her dress, making sure it fit comfortably she would make her way to the booth as Ky stood behind it once more holding the Blitzball.

* Hello Ky I see you've taken to getting recruits, want some help here i'm guessing? Also... how did you get my measurements... *

Her ears flicking just a little as she leaned closer to whisper to Ky for the last part, she'd look to the crowd smiling. Her ears perking high as she looked over the crowd, seeing many who would probably like to take their hand at getting the Blitzball.

* Thats right guys, wanna try and play Blitzball all you have to do is get the ball, and don't worry we won't be to rough on you all! *

Smiling as she motioned to Ky to step out and give someone else a chance, herself stepping out as well as she would turn, brushing her hands over the torches and setting them alight.

* Who will be the next to take on one of us for the chance at becoming a possible Blitzball star!!! *

Playing up what Ky had already begun, she smiled at Ky giving her a look as if saying to take it a bit easier on the ones trying out. After all they were not their to actually win.

PostSubject: Re: They're Off the Gate   They're Off the Gate I_icon_minitimeSun Oct 27, 2013 9:45 pm

K138Y smiled at Rena's awkward question but didn't answer it. It seemed better to not tell anyone that she could estimate sizes due to being a robot. It was just one of those things that calculated itself. It was simple enough not to answer with the crowd consisting mainly of males getting excited that a curvaceous woman had joined the fray. A few pervish looking weaklings took their place in the line, probably hoping for a chance at getting close to the literally foxy woman. Who could blame them really? K138Y had picked out a less Blitzball oriented color scheme for Rena's bikini, it was two shades of darker reds that gave it almost a fiery look and was planed to accent well with her fox fur as well as contrast K138Y's own blues. The next person in line, a woman this time, stepped forward to challenge Rena. K138Y was looking forward to watching the next fight. Though did glance back at the unlit torches and wondered if Rena would have a chance to light them. She also wondered why Rena hadn't brought anything to spice up the booth, there had to be something else for it after all. But oh well.

K138Y turned quickly as she noticed something in the corner of her vision heading right for her head. She registered it as a Blitzball and attempted to catch the thing but the ball was not standard regulation, it instead had a bumps all over it that made her method of catching it a bit more difficult. The ball instead went flying up into the air at and angle back where it came from. Someone from the crowd leaped into the air and grabbed the ball. Upon landing he was identifiable as an Al-Bhed, wearing yellow and silver tones and a pair of goggles that covered his eyes yet somehow stayed in place without anything strapping them on. He was built like a tank compared to the last man who had been built for speed. "After that last show I would be disappointed if she didn't go rough on me." She may have misread the accent, this was the first time she had heard it after all, but the Al-Bhed seemed to be flirting with her. He simply tossed her back the ball and gave a nodding challenge. K138Y turned her voice back up to the megaphone level to address the new match.

"Looks like we have a new contender! Lets see what you've got to offer hot stuff!" K138Y held the ball over her head with one hand, a bit of showmanship more than anything else. The Al-Bhed smiled and pointed a finger gun at the ball, perhaps he had his own showmanship traits as well. But when he pretend fired it was no longer pretend as small aqua ring fired from the tip of his finger and quickly expanded until hitting the ball. K138Y had not expected anyone to use magic to try and get the ball but she supposed her only rule had been to get the ball which made magic fair game. Equally she supposed she had used her nanite haste ability to get an edge last time. As the ball fell behind her she kicked a foot backwards and knocked it back up over her head and back into her hands. The Al-Bhed was already moving in for another maneuver, but K138Y went on the offensive. She didn't have any fancy magic moves to fire his way but she did have her passive reflect. Treating his rush as an attack she rushed back and used her reflect to bounce him away from her and send him flying towards the crowd who bounced him back onto his feet. Her haste gave her enough time to pull off a third maneuver, but after a knock back like that she imagined he was down for the count. But it seemed he was fine and still had a smile.

"Tricky tricky, beautiful machina. But I have more tricks too." He pointed both fingers this time, it may have been doubled but there was no way the same trick was going to work twice. But when the Al-Bhed fired it wasn't rings of water that shot out. It was Lightning. He was smart and didn't aim for her but instead aimed for the ball. The first shot knocked the ball out of her hands and the second sent it into her chest which allowed it to bounce back to him. He triumphantly showed off the ball to the crowd. K138Y was a bit disappointed she had lost to such a trick, but was happier to have someone she wanted to sign to the team.

"Alright! Looks like we have our first winner, and what a win that was! Step right up and sign a form good sir! And might I ask your name?" The mans smile never wavered, he'd had fun, but he turned his back and headed into the crowd with a backwards wave. "Sorry Beautiful machina, but I've already got a team. Can't be on two, it's against the rules you know." K138Y was disappointed but carried on the show, not wanting to miss a beat.

"Alright folks, looks like we got an appearance from an already official player! How exciting is that!? I think that means he might think we are serious enough for a once over, now who else wants to be part of a team that's already making waves with its contenders? "

Current Event: A Stop In Luca
Current BGM:

The team drive was a resounding success, the crowd that had appeared cheered at the question and more and more woud sign up. K138Y and her busty companion would have the support they needed to enter the Blitzball stadium. The best members from the list would head over to the Blitzball sign up area to await their new team captains. Of course there was a slight issue in that the two leading the team didn't actually know how to play the game, but well one of them being a magical pseudo robotic god and the other being an elemental manipulator....this probably wasn't going to be that difficult.

There was going to be a couple of hours before the final sign ups were recorded so it would probably be a good idea to go ahead and find where Zola had wandered off to as  if he was going to be any kind of guardian...well he'd need to be able to actually guard.

[Find Zola, or head to the Blitzball Stadium to sign up. Also, make a snazzy team name]

ZOLA

The local bounty board was located in a bar, a bar that was considerably crowded though this wasn't surprising considering the sports season. The bounty board however would have one big sticker slapped across it.

NO QUESTS ARE AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME, PLEASE CHECK AGAIN LATER

She was stepping away from the booth, and for a bit of showmanship she'd hold a hand out towards the crowd, her fingers in a position to snap but when they did the torches would seem to burst to life. She had ran her hand over them moments before but the spark she generated is what set them a-light, the snap was mostly for show as she could make the spark any time she needed to. Standing more in the open when a woman had stepped forwards to be her first opponent, she'd blink a bit when a Blitzball shot past her face. Her ears twitching a little as she'd look to Ky then to where the ball had come from, it seeming Ky had another challenger also she would delay her own opponent for the few minutes it took for Ky's to show they were a pro player.

* well well well, seems the Challenger really knows their stuff doesn't it! *

She'd comment out loudly as the short Battle of sorts went on, it was quickly apparent though that this particular challenger was willing to show them what a real blitzball player was like. It was known after the quick bout that they were already on a team though, that in it's self was a bit disappointing but she was getting ready to step up and give things a go further herself when people already cheering from the short bout with Ky were heading over to the table to sign up.

* Welcome welcome! Everyone can sign up! We'll post up who makes the team in a short while! *

Commenting out as people continued to show up and sign up, it seemed that despite the possible attempt at intimidating them, that the other player had helped garner more attention for their little team they were forming. Smiling as she'd would end up standing with the little booth as people signed up, she'd thank them for signing up. Giving Ky a look as if she should go ahead and try to Locate Zola, she herself could finish going over the applicants and get to the stadium.

* Ky your welcome to go track down Zolanius, I can finish up here and we can think on a name for the team when we meet up, I'll head to the Stadium and give a few final try outs to sift through all these Fantastic applicants! *

Making sure to mention them as such since they were slowly finishing signing up, she doubted Ky would get into any trouble just tracking Zola down after all to wherever he'd vanished. As soon as the applicants finished filling out their necessary information she'd take the sign up sheets and begin to head off towards the Blitzball stadium.

PostSubject: Re: They're Off the Gate   They're Off the Gate I_icon_minitimeSat Nov 02, 2013 4:06 pm

It was unfortunate that the inn didn't have any sort of requests available for Zolanius to cash in on, but at least it means this place has their proverbial ducks in a row. Still, he wanted SOMETHING to do, and now the only thing left to consider was the Blitzball thing that K138Y has suggested earlier. He really wasn't much into sports but this would be another opportunity for him to put his foot in the door of fame and fortune. A robot summoner and their strange guardians playing sports should definitely attract some attention. And speaking of attracting attention...

Zolanius had been wandering Luca a bit in search of K138Y and Rena, until he had heard some sort of commotion. Approaching the ruckus, there he saw K138y and Rena in a bikini. The pervert in him made him stare from the distance, the recording part of him pulled out his book and immidiately perform a small sketch, for kicks and giggles, of course, and the Raven Shade part of him snapped him to attention, and he deposited the journal and would make his way towards the booth. So they're really set on this blitzball thing? Better than nothing. So upon his approach, Zola walked straight towards K138Y.

"Quite the turnout, yeah? I cannot imagine what brought so much attention to ya.~" It would be obvious sarcasm. "So do you want me to sign up or what? Just tell me where I need to be. I'm bored, and I'm sure you wouldn't mind one more player."

PostSubject: Re: They're Off the Gate   They're Off the Gate I_icon_minitimeSat Nov 02, 2013 8:06 pm

After the crowd cleared Rena offered to take care of the Blitzball stuff while K138Y searched for Zola who would hopefully join in on the game, though if not they now had plenty of people to choose from for players. She removed her bikini and set it on the table, happy to be out of the clothes which she found kind of awkward. But upon turning around she found herself turning right into Zolanius who already began to broach the subject of joining the game.

"We would love you to Join Zolanious! I'd rather have you on the team than someone who we hardly know." Well she didn't know Zolanious that well either but at least she knew him more than a random Luca pedestrian. "But! We need to pick a name for the team still. I was thinking The Gaia Pilgrims!" She started walking in the direction of the stadium while talking, they did have a deadline to meet. "Cause we aren't exactly from Spira and we are on a pilgrimage. Sounds good ya?" K138Y was open to any and all suggestions an no one else had breached the subject yet. "That's my favorite I came up with a think. But I've got a few more like The Guardians, I may not be a guardian like you two but I'm kind of a guardian of Gaia when I've had the chance to be." She was starting to rant now, again. Would probably need something to stop her. But at least this time it seemed to be more due to excitement rather than some sort of internal error. "Or Team Ifrit! To commemorate our first temple as a team. Before you got here Zolanius I was thinking of a very feminine name since I mostly picked girls for the team" This wasn't exactly intentional but of the people who tried out these women were the best. Blitzball seemed to be a male dominate sport and many women were ready to step up to the challenge. "and I didn't know if you were going to want to join. Something like Shiva's Warriors, Daughters of Gaia, Or Sirens Song. But idk if we should do a girls name with you on the team. I had considered something about Cactuar, since he was my first summon. But that doesn't really represent the team in any way, but would really be a nice tribute that I'm sure he would appreciate." She finally stopped ranting as they neared the stadium and saw several people, the best of the signups. It was an exciting moment and it luckily shut her up since she was probably getting annoying. But they really did need to pick a team name, and pronto. "Oh, Zolanius, did you get us that room?" Okay may she still had a little left in her.

As Zolanius made himself known just as the crowd had dispersed from their little table, she looked to him as well when Ky would start to go over possible blitzball names for their team.

* Well Well Well! Look who found us.. Like Ky just said, hopefully you managed to get a room for us.. as for you having to Sign up your already on the team since your one of Ky's Guardians. *

Walking along still heading towards the stadium, she would look herself over still wearing the Bikini. She didn't mind such but she knew their were better outfits for playing Blitzball after all. Stretching a little she'd let her tails reform after a bit, listening to all the name idea's Ky had come up with she smiled looking to her as she really did tend to just ramble on. Reaching the stadium their was a good group that had gathered, most of them female as she smiled a bit.

* what about Cactaur Guardians? That might work also don't you think... as for a turnout definitely a good one, I dunno if you got to see Zol but Ky got a chance at an actual Player.. *

She was still uncertain as to the motive of a real player stepping up, in her mind it was still a toss up on if it was an intimidation tactic or not as far as she was concerned. Shaking her head as she was brought back to reality for the moment, She would step up and start greeting the players that had shown up. Introducing herself and getting a fair few questions about her tails.

* ahhah no worries.. Just a traveler is all but honestly we really do appreciate you all coming out today! We are hoping to do rather well, but we are just here to have some fun! *

Explaining a bit to the people that had shown up, she would rummage around somewhat fashioning herself an outfit for blitzball that covered a bit better, ending up with some snug boyshorts and sports bra type top.

*this should work better.. *

Stretching some as she would focus and let her tails vanish, again while stretching. She would take a practice blitzball to train with a little.

* I think I'm going to head on up to the Blitzball arena to get used to the movement in there.. *

She would probably do fantastic with that considering her ability to manipulate water, but it made her think back to the time she may have slightly messed up an arena. That didn't matter much though considering they were on a new Gaia, still she would wait for Ky, Zol, and the rest of their team to come up to the entry ring to train as well.

Zolanius simply listened to everything that K138Y had to say. Even though she did sort of ramble, Zola couldn't help but admire her enthusiasm at something as trivial as a name, and he actually liked most of the ideas she came up with, even if they were a bit feminine. The thing though was that, even if they didn't make an impact, this would affect what people think of them in the future. So he thought he'd add something. "How about... We change "Daughters of Gaia" to "Children of Gaia"? Something to open up the world to the team and remind them that Spira isn't the only place that can play, but the world. I don't know, might just be me being dramatic. But I definitely think you're on the right track, friend. Now if you don't need anything more, I'm off to lockers to change, and then I'll hit the arena."

With that, Zolanius wandered off and mentally prepared himself. There he met most of the other players, some speaking of their enthusiasm of the sport, others gossiping about the spectacle of Rena in a bikini. Ignoring them for the most part, he didn't do much to prepare beyond stashing his hat, coat and sword in a metal container, along with his boots. Leaving his gauntlets on, he took the belts that kept the coat secure and wrapped them around his legs, keeping the ends of his pants secure around his ankles. So there he was, shirtless with all of his scars revealed to the world, which made the other players seem a bit nervous for they know he's been through much. Much of these scars were random, but a few of them, to a keen eye, would appear perfectly symmetrical, but sloppy, as though he had lost a fight to an amature surgeon. He'd stretch and flex his muscles for a bit, preparing himself for what was to come. He was decent swimmer, but he had never had to hold his breath for as long as the players he's seen.

After mush preparation, he made his way to the arena. There, he'd admire the structure, and the machinery it took to make Blitzball possible.

Neither of her guardians seemed all that interested in the naming of the team. They both gave different variations of names she had suggested then took off to get some practice in. Both suggestions were good and all but it still left her with at least three different options to chose from. K138Y felt overwhelmed by the decision as she approached the desk where she needed to turn in her paperwork. Choosing "Cactuar Guardians" would mean she hadn't liked Zolanious' idea. Choosing "Children of Gaia" would mean she didn't like Rena's idea. K138Y didn't want to offend either of her friends but even picking her own favorite "Gaia's Pilgrims" would mean she had disregarded both of her friends suggestions and decided her own opinion carried more weight. At the desk she froze and the secretary, with a name tag that ready Jezey, behind it seemed agitated at having her time wasted.

"You going to hand over that paperwork or what?" The woman eyed the robot with a look of disgust, but overall seemed to feel her time was being wasted on the robot who seemed to have broken down at the counter. K138Y went on auto Pilot and just handed over the papers without putting the team name on them. "Alright, you can go now. It will be a little while before everything is finalized but you'll be ready for the trial run." Not sure what else to do, having now ruined everything by not having a name at all, K138Y just started walking away. But grumpy Jezzy wasn't ready to make it that easy. "Scuse me! Machina! We will NOT process this without a team name on it." Still panicked over team names she simply wrote out, in perfectly typed looking font that looked as though it had been printed, exactly what was on her mind.

They're Off the Gate Blitzballname_zps60feeeb2

Jezzy gave an even stranger look to the Machina then shrugged. K138Y left but felt a mix of emotions. The stress of having to pick the team name was gone, replaced with a feeling of dread that she may have let down the team. She hoped they wouldn't mind...Her brain had just been processing so many options and it all just spilled out onto the paper. She decided to just head to the locker room and get some practice in with everyone else.

In the locker room K138Y found herself staring at the blitz blue bikini, a big BBB on the tag, that she had worn for the recruiting booth. She was left with the decision to wear it or not. Previous interactions had shown her that the world better accepted her if she wore clothes, it made her relateable. In Besaid she had worn a cloak that covered most of her, it had been Lynette's idea. For the recruiting she had worn the bikini for the same reasons. But it just didn't feel right, it just wasn't her. The decision left her sitting at the bench trying to decide and remembering Lynette, who may have been K138Y's guardian but really she always felt like it was the other way around. In a way she had loved Lynette. But in the end she never made it to practice out of the locker room.

Current Event: A Stop In Luca
Current BGM:

The man who was at the sign up booth looked at K138Y with a confused look on his face, which quite rightly could either be because he was staring at a robot...or because of the extremely odd name you had chosen for your team. None the less he would point you all towards the changing room and allow you to proceed towards the actual game.

When you had all changed into whatever outfit you'd be wearing to play the game you would be greeted by the sight of perhaps one of Spira's many wonders. The Blitzball arena was like a giant plastic sphere that would be filled with a strange oxygenated water allowing whoever played inside to breathe throughout the match. The other team would also walk onto the court and they looked perhaps as strange as you all. The opposing players were giant....blue......animal men? In Spira these creatures were the Ronso, strong and powerful but backwards even by Spiran terms. They would all dive in at the entrance to the plastic sphere, whether or not this was going to be an easy game was at this point unknown...

[Make any last minute discussions then head into the Blitzsphere]

Smiled as Ky would come back, herself having already changed from the basic Bikini to the snug short shorts and sportier top. She looked over the arena as it was before them, having shifted enough to keep her tails hidden away. She had waited for both Ky and Zola to get out to the rings entrance before deciding to ask.

* So Ky.. did you settle on a name finally? I figured since your the summoner and we but guardians it's up to you to decide on a name.. kind of a sign of Leadership you know? I'll be it's a great name though! *

Smiling as she leapt into the giant bubble of water, she would swim around naturally a minute or two. Getting herself acclimated to the fluid around her, it was the first time she'd been in the water and not causing a stadium to fall apart. Fond memories in a sense of the word, she would start shifting herself around in the water with the water itself. Moving through the water she would go to the top of the bubble, sticking her head out of the water to the air as others would jump into the bubble and get acclimated as well.

* This...is going to be so much fun, even if we'll lose...*

Laughing as she ducked back into the fluid she would move down to the bottom of the water orb, held in air by the giant arms around, above and below the water. Her hair hanging as she felt blood rush to her head hanging their, she would swim back in and go back up to where their team would be gathering in the water when Ky and Zola would join them as well.

Zolanius looked at the large arena in amazement, and a hint of fear. He'd never attempted to play the watery sport of Blitzball, but he was a decent swimmer at least. But where would this average swimming ability come in handy in the heat of competition? Though the need to hold his breath not being a factor, he might actually do very well. But compared to his teammates, one who controls water and another who could literally be a swimming machine, he'd have his work cut out for him. Then there were the opponents, those Ronso who had probably been playing for years, are well coordinated... This could be an issue. Rena's enthusiasm helped him out with the pessimistic thoughts going through his mind, and reminded him that this wasn't REAL competition. This was a mission, sort of, to there was no need to be too bothered by it.

With a running leap, Zolanius would splash into the sphere, and just kinda float there. The modifications to his attire helped make him a bit more hydrodynamic, and he was able to move with relative ease. He only had to get over the sensation of NOT drowning for once, and he was ready for the game to begin.

They're Off the Gate Empty
PostSubject: Re: They're Off the Gate   They're Off the Gate I_icon_minitimeSat Nov 23, 2013 12:42 am

K138Y was startled by Rena addressing her. She had been staring at her bikini for quite a while and had completely lost track of how much time had passed. Though K138Y greeted her friend as Rena was always a welcome sight. She noticed that Rena had hidden away every trace of her animalistic form except for the ears. K138Y found herself thinking Rena didn’t need to hide away, she should be herself. She shouldn’t feel a need to be anyone but herself. It dawned on her that she too was trying to hide her true self away behind normal human clothes. But now she was able to decide to just be herself without the facade. K138Y hopped her decision not to hide would be an example for Rena to show her true colors as well. They didn’t fit into the normal way of things, that’s just who their team was. A fox girl, a robot, one local, and a blood mage. Nothing about their team was normal.

With the stress of picking an outfit relieved an older stress surfaced. Rena wanted to know what the team name was. She assured K138Y that whatever she picked would be fine since she was a leader of sorts. That would have been nice to hear earlier...now it was too late. Rena also assured that she was certain that any name would be fine. Gaias Guardians of Cactuars Pilgrim Children was not a fine name… K138Y simply nodded and gave a vague response.

“Yeah...They wouldn’t let me turn in the paperwork without a name so I definitely picked one.”

Rena seemed to accept that answer and ran off to enter the arena. K138Y followed nervously behind her. She was struck dead by the site of the arena. Seeing the thing from far away was stunning but up close and personal it was intimidating. Strangely enough she had not considered what would happen to her in the water up until now. She’d had very little experience with water, her metal frame might just sink to the bottom. Or maybe the magic sphere would allow her to be on the same grounds as everyone else. She watched as Rena lept into the sphere of water and seemed to enjoy it. The giant globe was supposed to make it so that you could breath underwater. Rena was on her way back when Zolanius lept in from the males entrance and simply floated calmly in the water, he looked like a real Blitzball player in his tight-form fitting clothes. K138Y was preparing to take the plunge when their final teammate(‘s (? no longer sure if there is more than one since the quest has been deleted and I can’t remember how many we needed.)) rushed past her and made their own leap into the water.

The Ronso across the way drew her attention. They were kind of like Rena, part human and part animal. They didn’t hide who they were, but they had been a race in Spira for a long time. For them this game must have been a shot at getting into the real games. They could potentially dominate the Blitzball league due to simple racial advantages. But they were often looked down upon by the judgemental people of Spira. It would be a true shame to defeat them here in their chance to shine and potentially become a much larger accepted part of the world. But there was no way K138Y could just hand the game to them. Besides they probably would want to know they had earned their place among the other players. If the Ronso could work so hard to exist outside of their natural environment and try so hard to fight the oppression they were under. Then clearly k138Y could get over her measly fear of the the water.

With that in mind she took the plunge. There was a resounding smack as she performed a belly flop of sorts into the water. On a human it would have been a painful injury but she simply bypassed the barrier and entered the dome. Only fate would determine what happened to her now.

(Note for DM: Determine of K138Y sinks or has the ability to swim.)

Current Event: A Stop In Luca
Current BGM:

OOC Note: This post is primarily because Maxxxy wanted me to post, like the others its done whilst I have the flu and thus not 100% of what I wanted it to be.

The horn would go off all teams being called into the sphere, marching out came the Ronso men and women of the opposing side, some of your team looked intimidated, others simply looked excited.

Blitzball:

Blitzball is a game of three rounds, on each round you must beat back the opposing team and obtain the ball from them. To obtain the ball you must tackle the ball handler, this is done via stats. The stats of the 3 main players will be posted on both the enemy side and the player side. Blitzball is much like a battle except without CA's basic actions in Blitzball include

  • Tackle, Strength VS Strength, highest wins and takes the ball
  • Swim, takes 3 full actions to reach the enemy goal (note that to tackle a swimming ball handler you must swim to them, this takes up 1 turn if they have not reached the goal, or 2 if they have)
  • Pass, basically you pass the ball
  • Intercept, if your speed is higher than the passing players strength you can intercept the pass and take it for your team
  • Shoot, shoot the ball

Ronso Team Stats

Player 1:

Strength: 1000
Defense: 600
Speed: 800

Player 2:
Strength: 1500
Defense: 400
Speed: 400

Player 3:

Strength:500
Defense: 600
Speed: 1500

Announcer:

And we're off! The ball is in the stadium
