Ryun is a kind and caring person, behind the mammoth frame and piercing black eyes is a heart of gold. Once someone gets to know him, he’s quite a likeably chap, funny and friendly. However, to know all this one has to get past his appearance, which is not exactly an easy thing to do.
Due to the fact the he is slightly shy; at first he does not speak much, which makes him seem quite intimidating. Also, even though he is a friendly guy he is known to flare up in anger quite quickly. However, on a day to day basis it is rare, but when it comes to when he is fighting or he sees something he does not like or thinks is wrong, than he can go from calm to frenzied in 2.5 seconds.
He is also single minded, a very stubborn individual, it was what got him to where he is today, but even with that said it could, and has gotten him into trouble in the past. He is a blend of many kinds of people, but, once someone gets past his large and slightly intimidating visage, he is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet.
Appearance:
Ryun stands at 6ft 6” and weighs in at 333lbs. His body is muscular, almost unnaturally so, which is covered in a lightly tanned skin, showing that he has spent most of his life out in the fields working. Due to his large size and hard working lifestyle he looks a lot older than he is, more like in his mid to late twenties rather than in his mid-teens.
He had medium black hair which is usually left in a mess, working all of his life he has had little worry about his appearance. He also has the most, deep, piercing, and beautiful black eyes this side of Spira. He is an interesting one because, as someone would say, he’s is two parts scary one part attractive.
Coming from a farming family he has little in the way of money, so his clothes represent this, not that he has ever cared much about fashion. He is usually seen in a pair of tanned trousers, boots and gloves, with a lightly tanned tunic. All of these clothes are slightly tatty.
Equipment:
Titan’s Hammer: Titans Hammer is closer to a double handed hammer in its actual size and weight. However, due Ryun’s size and strength he wields it as a single handed one. It is a has the same design as a War Hammer, with red leather wrapped around the handle. (Level 0)

Combat Abilities:

Combat abilities are abilities that for the most deal physical damage or weaken the opponent in some way ( power break).However some combat abilities may be magic based. - Description: Ryun was born with unnatural levels of physical strength. As he has gotten older it has become more and more apparent. However, due to his nature, he does not use all of his strength, even in the heat of battle, unless he absolutely has to. Due to this, he seems to do that same physical attack much easier than a normal human would be able to.
- Damage: No Damage Dealt
- Additional Effects: Physical Combat Abilities cost 25% less MP than normal. Along with that his Physical Combat Abilities get a 10% damage bonus on top of what they normally do.

Unmagically Inclined
- Description: Ryun is physically strong, stronger than most human his age should be, however, it seems that through his physical strength, it has severely weakened his magical strength. Unlike people from Cocoon he can learn magically spells and abilities, but, they are extremely draining, as easy as he finds it to perform a physical attack, it is equally hard for him to perform a magical one.
- Damage: No Damage Dealt
- Additional Effects: Ryun starts out with 0 Magic Statistic, and it costs him twice as many points to gain points for his Magical Statistic so if he wants to 100 points for it, it will cost him 200 points. Also, Ryun starts out with no magical spells. Along with that, Magic base Character Abilities cost 25% more MP than normal.

Gargantuan Strike {Attack}
- This is one of the few times Ryun lets loose with his full physical power. Bringing his hammer up over his head he brings it down for a devastating strike at the nearest target. This strike can break castle walls as easily as it can break bone.
- Damage: It deals 300 base damage to 1 foe.
- Additional Effects: May inflict Armour Break.
Magic
Magic is the power of the ancients, the ability to use the powers of the planet to heal or even to damage. Unlike combat abilities magic abilities cannot be made. Magic is premade and is listed under magic. At creation each character starts with a single magic slot, this is increased depending on race or class. A list of availble magics is in the appropriate thread. Level 2 and 3 magic abilities can only be learned if you have the corrisponding lower level spell.

History:
Ryun Craften is the only son of Kerian and Meles Craften a farmer and is wife. Meles also worked in the local store when she was not tending the family or taking care of their home. They lived happily on the island of Besaid in one of the larger small hut in the village. The hut was not exactly the biggest on the island, but not exactly the smallest either. Ryun’s parents wished they could have more children. However, unfortunately, due to the lack of income they were getting from Kerian’s field, and Meles’ job, they could not afford another son or daughter. Never the less they loved Ryun and were happy he was in their lives.
Growing up Ryun didn’t have many friends his own age, or at all for the matter, outside of the farmers that tended the lands next to his father’s. Ryun didn’t mind it usually, but there were times where he was saddened by this. He was not sure why, but he had a feeling it was because of his size. He was right about that and because of his size the other children were afraid to approach him. Ryun had always been noticeably large and strong. His size and strength had been noticeable from a very young age, because he had always been at least a head taller than the other boys and was nowhere near stopping. His mother once joked that every time she blinked he had grown an inch taller.
The other farmers always joked about his mother playing away with a Ronso. Most people might have found this offensive, but both Ryun, and his father found it funny, because if his mother was not as devoted to Kerian, it could have been a possibility. At the age of seven he had been working on his father’s land for a year, and due to his size and strength he could actually plough his father’s land without the aid of a chocobo. The other farmers paid Ryun a little bit of money to plough their fields. He accepted these jobs and put most of his earnings into the home, keeping only a small amount to himself for treats.
Even though he had a good life, with a loving family, food on the table, and a small amount of coin in his pocket he could not help, from time to time, wish for more than what he had. He had plenty to live for, more than some could say, however, he firmly believed that he was meant to do more with his life than tend crops and plough fields. It is not a common thing to want this, so is there any wonder why someone with his natural abilities wanted it as well. He had in fact spoken to his father once or twice about it, and he was not too pleased about what Ryun. Kerian always told him, when he brought up the subject, that he would be a farmer, like Kerian was, Kerian’s father and every male in the family for many generations. However Ryun was adamant about the fact that he did not want this and it was the cause for Ryun and his father falling out one more than one occasion.
At the age of 13 he left the shores of Besaid for the first time and went to Luca. The trip, as his father told him, was to help him sell the spare crops so he could understand everything around farming. Kerian did this because his father was still adamant about Ryun taking over the family lands. However, there was one more thing they were going to do in Luca. Kerian, seeing how hard Ryun has worked, surprised him with tickets to a Blitzball match. The game was the Besaid Aurochs VS the Luca Goers, Ryun, and his father backing their local team. Ryun, if it needs to be said, was excited because, like all young men of Spira, Ryun loved Blitzball. The Aurochs lost, which, even though disappointed, was not big surprise. Never the less Ryun had a great time and some memories he would always cherish.
However, the event that was to follow would impact greatly on this young man’s life. On the way back from the match Ryun and his father was attacked by thugs, wanting their money and valuables. They had little of both, which was to be expected from a family like the Craftens. However, even though Kerian was going to give it to them, Ryun was not having any of it and attacked the thugs. That fight, the young, but extremely large boy found out his strong he really was. It was over fast, almost faster than a blink of the eye. It took Ryun five swings of his fists to end it sending the would be muggers soaring in different directions. It was that fight that made him even surer, if that was possible, that he was meant to do more with his life than farm. However, it was then he found out what he was meant to be, a great warrior, or adventurer.
The following three years Ryun trained in secret. He knew how his father would react to this, so he needed to. However, he was not sure how his mother would react, so, to be on the safe side he did not tell her either. Ryun got his mother to pad the gloves he used to work, saying that it would help him in the fields, but the truth was it was to aid in his training. He did not like lying to his parents; he was not the type of guy to lie to the ones he held closest to him. However he knew, if he was to be able to continue with his training, it was an evil that had to be done. He did many things during those years in the name of training.
Ryun wanted to do whatever it took to achieve what he had set out to do, to give him a foothold in becoming a great warrior and adventurer. The things he did varied quite a bit. He ran, climbed, swam and used fallen trees as weights. These were among the various things he did to increase his strength, speed and endurance. Along with that he trained himself how to throw fists, not a martial art, closer to boxing than anything. He was never the most skilful at it, but where his skill lacked his strength and speed made up for it. In the final two years he started to hunt unsent which was a big jump from just working out. He did this for two reasons one; as training, and two; it was a good way to keep Besaid safe.
However, his mother grew suspicious, there were only so many times she could wash blood out of and sew clothing before something clicked in her head. One day she followed him and was completely surprised at what she saw. It was then, when she saw her baby boy smash a larger unsent halfway across an open field that made her realise what Ryun had been trying to tell his father for years, that he was not meant to be a farmer. She confronted him with what she had seen. This got Ryun into a panic and begged his mother not to tell Kerian. They talked about it, and by the end, after a lot more begging from Ryun; Meles promised she would not tell Kerian.
On his sixteenth birthday his mother approached him and gave his gifts, one hundred gil and a ticket to Kilka. He was confused about the ticket until his mother told him it was a gift, to start him on his path as a warrior, this made Ryun very happy and he gave his mother and bone crunching hug. However, she told him, if he wanted to be a warrior it was now or never. Ryun was not sure what she meant until his father approached him with his gift, a share of the family lands and his own hut not far from theirs. His father told him, all that was need was his signatures on the deeds and he would have the life his father always wanted for him. It was then Ryun knew what his mother had meant, and, with a heavy heart he refused his father.
After the refusal it all came out, that he had been training for the last three years, how his mother knew he had been hunting unsent, and how his mother supports him in his goals. It took all of the night, but finally, after all that time, his father finally agreed, which even though it made Ryun happy, surprised him. He asked his father why he had changed his mind, and he simply replied that if his mother had faith in him, and he was so set on doing it, who was he to stop him. However, it would come with some strings attached, which did not surprise Ryun in the slightest. He would support his son in his goals, but, if he was not reasonably known in Spira, within the year he would have to come back to Besaid and work as a farmer.
Having a firm belief in himself he agreed to this. He was about to go to bed when Kerian shoved a deed under his nose, it was for the hut. He was confused at first, and was even more so when he saw what the deed was for. His father then explained, going or staying the hut was still his. Ryun smiled and signed the deed before heading off for a good night’s sleep. The next day, early in the morning he set off with found farewells from his parents, and the farmers. Would Ryun make it and prove that he was going to make a name for himself, or would he have to return and live a life he never wanted? Only time will tell.
RP sample:
Ryun was just about to finish his run from Besaid village. He was not out of breath which was no surprise since he had been doing this run for a while. He was just entering the shore his eye focused on the water. It was his target; he would touch the water before he made his run back. All of a sudden he hears a scream. The scream was of sheer terror and, from the sounds of things, not far from where he was. So, after hearing the scream, he looks up and what he saw he did not like. It was a pair of dingoes advancing on a small girl. At that sight he grew very angry and charged letting out a massive battle cry.
Before the dingoes had any time to react Ryun slammed a fist into one of them. The shock and the massive impact from the blow sent the creature flying away from him, and more importantly, the girl. Almost instantly the second dingo was on him and bit into his arm. The bite was hard and it made Ryun roar out in pain. The pain mixed with the anger only seemed to fuel him as he punched the second dog like creature into the stomach sending it flying forward, but not without a bit of his arm’s flesh which made Ryun grunt in pain.
The first dingo was bounding towards the young fist fighter. However, due to the distance of where it had start Ryun was ready for it and caught it with another sledgehammer like punch. Before the beast had time to recover Ryun caught him with another one finishing it off. Seemingly out of nowhere the second dingo was back and pounced on Ryun. However, this time, the young man managed to catch it in time. He used the back of his fist to connect with the side of its head. However, he pushed further and slammed it into a tree. He forced more and more pressure on the dingo before it went limp.
Dropping the lifeless form of the dingo he looked at his arm. It did not look back but it still hurt like hell. Trying to shake off the pain he grumbled, however, he suddenly realised he had forgotten about the girl. He looked around the shore for a moment or two trying to see her; however it seemed that, whilst he had been fighting the two dingoes she had fled. Once he was sure she was not there he took out a bandage and wrapped it around his forearm before he started to walk back to Besaid village, which soon turned into a jog, then an all-out run. As he did this he wondered, how the hell was he going to explain the wound to his mother, and more importantly, his father.
