Current Event: Angel Fall
Current BGM:

" it always starts with something....something small....certain events in certain worlds don't make much of an impact...but on other worlds, some things when they line up in a particular order. Well...that's what starts the domino chain. Its these small combinations that start the process, on several worlds it was the war between Galbadia and Midgar, but on others this event doesn't happen and instead we end up with something entirely different. At first I thought that these changes meant that perhaps the cycle could be broken. But I was wrong...in the end we're all hurtling towards the same conclusion, even if we take a different path...the journey ends the same way".

All over Gaia (in the worlds that had the technology to detect it) there was  a bit of a panic. Esthar for the first time in years had reached out to the rest of the world with a single communication. " Look up". Of course, it wasn't nearly that simple, it came with coordinates in space...in Midgar officals headed to Cosmo Canyon to take a good look through their largest observatory, in Galbadia their military scientists used what satellites they had to scan the area. The idea was similar all over the world, those who had the technology looked into it and found one thing. A meteorite, it was hurtling through space flying towards the world at great speeds, it wasn't particularly large however the impact would be dangerous if it had hit a major population zone

Messages were sent back to Esthar on the same channel with thanks, and whilst Esthar remained hidden and silent once more suspicion towards its intentions greatly lessened throughout the world. One thing that baffled scientists though was that the meteorite was displaying unusual behavior for a space entity, for one it was changing course mid flight, whilst it remained on track falling to the earth it made minor adjustments in an attempt to avoid collisions with other space based debris. Over the next few days its course stayed true, and the people of Gaia estimated its landing point as somewhere in the middle of nowhere in Mysidia.Everything would have been fine, however events would never allow such things to be that simple.

Before the Estharians realized what was wrong, the orbit of an Esthar satellite moved into the trajectory of the meteorites path. Whilst losing a satellite was normally nothing big, this particular orbiting body was a world secret that the government of the advanced nation would rather not have to explain. Nothing could be done however and both collided sending Esthar Satellite hurtling towards the earth along with the meteor. Due to the collision the landing point of both changed significantly and early that morning people on the eastern side of Gaia would see both crashing through the air towards the Vector Region.  The meteorite and its collided companion would land miles outside of Figaro, for a time both the rebels and the empire lost interest in each other and focused entirely on the crash site. Within the days following Vector would fall quiet, closing its borders to all.

Videos would be launched from within Vector on the worlds internet, military displays showing new Magitek technology that seemed to be beyond what the Empire had been capable of before. But even after awhile those stopped....till finally a month following the fall of the meteor and satellite a message was broadcast on all channels within Gaia. A distress call, an SOS from the people of the Empire. It did not take long for this message to be shut down from within, but clearly...something was going on.

Your Role: Governments around the world aren't willing to provoke an issue with Vector, but are incredibly curious/worried about the sudden clandestine activity. Jobs are being posted for mercenaries to infiltrate Vector and investigate the issue. You will all arrive on a smugglers vessel that came from the Junon port of the Midgar region, the moment you arrive you will have instructions to seek out the Rebel Faction " The Returners".

K138Y drifted the seas on what was apparently a smugglers vessel. The Battle Trumpet, the name of the vessel, was actually larger, as well as a bit more old fashioned, than she had imagined it would be but it probably transported allot of items and did not just smuggle things. Really if her contact hadn't told her before hand she probably wouldn't have had any idea of its smuggling nature. Either way the crew wanted her out of the way, some didn't want her on board due to the recent events with Sin leaving Spirian waters, so she once again spent her sail meditating. Her new found ability to project herself to other areas in the world was proving insanely useful since she didn't ever NEED to sleep. Though at first she did find herself mentally pacing quite a bit. Reports on the threat in vector had shown signs of being extremely magic based. But K138Y was a physical fighter and personally had very few spells or defenses against them. On the plus side her Aeons all knew magic which at least covered elemental damage needs.

It seemed like it was time to go when a gruff sounding voice addressed her. "Hey Girly," But it was more humiliating of a scenario, "Were getting inspected, time to hide." K138Y opened up the false door to a crate she had been told to hide in and climbed inside. The interior was filled with bait and she was expected to hide under it. After a few seconds of hiding the lid opened and there was a slightly disgusted noise before it slammed shut again. She was safe. But strangely no one ever came to tell her the coast was clear, that is until it was time to get off the damn boat. Basically they had forgotten about her, or just thought it was funny to leave her in there. She leaped into the bay and climbed back up on a further down dock, she was too identifiable to just waltz out of the ship. But this cleaned off all the bait so that was good. Visually investigating the port revealed very little, but supposedly she needed to find 'The Returners'. But she just wasn't certain where to start, you couldn't just go asking about secret rebel group locations. But, as had been increasingly clear over the course of her life, she stuck out like a sore thumb. Perhaps they would come to her if she simply waited.

Spoiler:

The past month and a half had been eventful for the world.  Esthar broke its radio silence, for the first time in nearly two decades.  Some people didn’t think that the utopia even existed.  Not surprising, considering Esthar was the world leader in not only technology, but also military might, economics, and pretty much any other category you could think of.  That fact combined with the country’s sudden and complete disappearance, made the entire place seem a bit far-fetched.  So, this break in radio silence was something completely unheard of.  The message was global news.

Lorenzo, around this same time, was on a fishing vessel, gleaning what information he could about the world he now found himself in.  The crew of this ship had asked him multiple times “What? Have you been living under a rock or something?”  But, despite coming off as a complete nut, the crew obliged him with a brief history of the world, and he had learned enough to confirm his theory that he had arrived on an alternate version of Gaia, that had the same general history, with changes in only a few key aspects.  What was more; it seemed that he had emerged in this world at an earlier point in time than when he had left the old one.  As such, he expected that, because the histories of the two worlds were so similar, that the future of this world would mirror the events of the previous as well… So, when the vessel he was on received radio word of the news about Esthar, Lorenzo was shocked.  Esthar had never revealed itself on the Old Gaia, even when the entire world was on the brink of destruction from the Blight.  But, being on the high seas as he was, he couldn’t get the full story.

A week later, he was ashore, staying in a room at Fisherman’s Horizon, a city floating in the middle of the ocean, held in place by two massively long bridges that connected it to the Centran landmass and the Galbadian continent.  It was founded by Estharians who had fled the country prior to the borders being closed.  They were a group of nearly entirely pacifists, and Lorenzo’s monster arm and massive spear put them off quite a bit.  It was only their shared connection to Esthar that convinced them to allow him to stay with them, and even then it took a silver tongue.  It was his religion that sold it, though; it swayed the mayor into thinking that he had a gentler side to him.  Though, as he spent more and more time in Fisherman’s Horizon, he managed to speak of his religion quite a bit with the people of the town.  Seeing as all of the people of Fisherman’s Horizon were aware of the Legend of Hyne, being former Estharians, and as such, they were much easier to reach with his religion talk.  It was a bit odd, however, preaching a religion that basically said slaughtering a bunch of magic women will revive God, to a bunch of pacifists.  The people were certainly willing to listen, at least, but it didn’t make him many friends.  As a result, he spent most of his time in Fisherman’s Horizon on a computer terminal in his hotel room.  He didn’t mind so much, though, because it allowed him to keep up with the world news.

By this time, the rest of the world had managed to decipher Esthar’s message.  It was a warning regarding a meteor that was heading towards Mysidia.  It didn’t seem as though the meteor would cause any real harm, crashing in an uninhabited area.  So the question that no one seemed to be asking was why did Esthar warn anyone?  Esthar might be the only space-faring civilization, but they weren’t the only country with telescopes.  It might not have been as early a warning as Esthar had given them, but even so it’d be sufficient time to evacuate the area.  And while President Loire might be the most compassionate man on the planet, but he put more priority on his own people, rather than the rest of the world.  And rightly so; it made for a good leader.  Keeping in mind that the meteor wasn’t a major risk, it didn’t make sense why he would care.  Most people, however, were so grateful for the message that they completely overlooked this one confusing aspect.  Lorenzo, on the other hand, being originally from Esthar, knew exactly the reason.  The meteor’s trajectory would have it passing right through the Sorceress Memorial Shrine.  And that made the seemingly harmless rock an absolutely massive threat.  More or less immediately Lorenzo began packing up his bags in preparation.

The Sorceress Memorial Shrine was an orbiting space station, created by President Loire to capture the evil Sorceress Adel.  Adel, of course, is the Sorceress that ruled Esthar seventeen years ago, and tried to use their military advantage, along with her own endless magical power, to take over the entire world during the Sorceress Wars.  Basically, if that Shrine was knocked out of orbit, it was bad, bad, bad news for the world.  Lesser known of her many many crimes was that she ravaged her own citizens in a desperate attempt to find a successor for her Sorceress Powers.  Lorenzo’s family was one of the many victims of this ravaging of the countryside.  Though technically this was not true, as Lorenzo was from another world, and it was a different version of Adel that had killed his parents and kidnapped his sister.  Even so, he had some strong feelings about this hermaphroditic monster that calls herself Adel.

The problem was, Lorenzo didn’t know where this meteor was due to land.  Sure, its trajectory was heading for Mysidia now, but surely that would change a few dozen degrees once it collided with the Memorial Shrine.  So, Lorenzo had his gear ready to jump into action the second he knew where the action was… but until then, he was stuck in this quiet island-city.  Time passed, and more news continued to come in.  Unsurprising to him, though a complete shock to the world, the meteor did indeed end up changing course, this time set to land in Vector.  Lorenzo was all set to leave the following afternoon.  Or at least, he was.  But, the following morning, Vector had completely shut down their borders.  Lorenzo’s ferry into the country was cancelled, and all broadcasts in and out of the country were cut off.  They had dropped off the grid completely.

Well, perhaps not completely.  Over the next few days, static-y videos surfaced on the internet.  Lorenzo knew little about Vector, but the videos seemed to be of soldiers of the Gestahl Empire, with new advanced weaponry and magitek technology.  Magitek was the Vector equivalent to the rest of the world’s Para-Magic.  This new technology shown in the videos was nothing compared to Esthar, but it was still a major deal.  It seemed that almost overnight, Vector had gone from being a mostly insignificant country, to being one of the major world powers.  Speculation flew around the internet, among the few countries that actually had internet, about how they could possibly gain such technology so quickly.  This was no secret to Lorenzo, however.  Just confirmation of what he already knew; Adel was in Vector.  But, it was still odd… the idea that the military would reap the benefits implied one of two things.  Either Adel was dead, and the Empire’s new tech was the result of an examination of the body, or, Adel had allied herself with the Empire… for some reason.  Likely for the same reasons she took over Esthar two decades ago; to use them as a pawn to further her personal goal of global domination.

It was all so very frustrating.  Lorenzo would like nothing more than to slit that Sorceress’ throat himself, despite the fact that she stood at nearly fifteen feet tall, and no one would be able to even reach her throat.  Regardless, Lorenzo was stuck in Fisherman’s Horizon, a place completely isolated from everything interesting that has ever happened ever, while his goal was just out of his reach in Vector.  That was, until a distress call went out on all radio channels.  Prior to all of these events, Vector was, apparently, a country with a lot of civil unrest.  Rather stereotypically, as it turned out; evil empire versus ragtag team of goodhearted rebels.  The message that was sent out seemed to be from one of the more prominent rebel groups, referring to themselves as The Returners.  And that was the full extent of Lorenzo’s knowledge of Vector.

Almost immediately after this distress signal went out, it was shut down, apparently the Empire had found the Returners’ radio outpost.  And with the borders still closed down, there was nothing the general public of the world could do, even if they wanted to, and most of the governments of the world couldn’t interfere without provoking an all-out war, which they obviously wouldn’t do.  Except perhaps Esthar.  His homeland was sure to do whatever it took to stop Adel, at any costs, even if it meant war.  But, nothing had been heard of Esthar since their original warning message, so while Estharian interference was likely, the people of Vector certainly didn’t know to expect it.  So, naturally, they would continue in their efforts to enlist aid.  Sure enough, Lorenzo received an anonymous email to an account he had previously used for setting up his witch-hunting hit-man contracts.  The mailing was calling for any mercenary available to report to a cargo ship in Junon, where they would be smuggled into Vector.  Once there, they would be expected to make contact with a representative of The Returners.  They were certainly desperate, considering the amount they were offering to pay, but it was unnecessary; Lorenzo was raring to go even without the money.

And, that is how a week later he was aboard The Battle Trumpet, posing as one of its crew.  This, of course, meant that he had to wear long sleeves and gloves, to hide his metal left arm.  On top of a silly looking sailor’s cap the likes of which Lorenzo had never seen outside of old cartoons.  With a rope tied to the end of his spear, it could sort of pass for a harpoon, which was slightly odd to see on a cargo ship, but not unheard of.  He was aware that he was not the only piece of “living cargo” that was being smuggled into the country, but the ship was large enough that he hadn’t yet seen any of the other mercenaries.  As they approached Vectorian waters they were flagged down, and Magitek Soldiers came aboard to inspect the vessel.  His disguise held up rather well; he just kept acting as though he was busy working, and the soldiers ignored him, clearly being more concerned with illegal cargo than with random crew members.  It seemed that after they had passed this check point, and the soldiers were back aboard their own ship, they were home free.  The docks of the town of South Figaro accepted them. Soon he would find this group, The Returners.  Soon Lorenzo could have his revenge.  More importantly, soon he'd be that much closer to the resurrection of Hyne.

She had heard of the strange goings on when recovering her airship, getting radios turned on and getting the ship up and flying had not taken nearly as long as she expected which took a lot off her shoulders. She had gotten herself re-attuned to the airship reconfigured the systems, everything had been set after all she went through to recover the ship. But it was during all this she found her way back to Midgar of all places, having made her way to Shinra headquarters and keeping her identity mostly to herself making it known that she would be willing to assist them in their own search of having someone go to Vector in their stead. Being that she was someone unknown and off the radar, and never having had ties to Shinra in the past helped just in case she was caught or found while in Vector she couldn't be placed to have any real ties to Shinra. Loaning herself out so to speak she reached a small deal for if she got any relevant information for them she could be compensated for it, never specifying in what way as Shinra would have their own card to play she felt leaving the compensation up to them was fair for the time being.
It was after all of this that she ended up heading to the docks of Junon, having to take a ship to get where she was going and not risking her own airship for the time being, she did have control of it however at great distances in the meantime for a quick escape or backup if needed depending on the situation, whatever that situation may be at the time.

* Such a pain all this sneaking around really what could it have been that fell.. Hopefully Ky is alright if she is already there.. *

The last message she had gotten from Ky after she had gone off to find her airship was that Ky was heading to Vector for some Mercenary job, it's what led herself to Midgar to take the same job but from them instead. At least it got her aboard the ship even if she was being smuggled in and had to be hidden when the ship would come under inspection, having to hide below deck during them. She would emerge when the ship docked finally, stretching and making her way off the ship and across the docks to land. Inhaling deeply they had seemingly landed at night, as she stood their someone came up to her and pushed a piece of paper into her grasp.
Looking to see who it was but the figure was already gone, and on their way as she lifted her hand and read the paper. It was directing her to find someone or some group called The Returners, the name in it's self seemed strange, a group referring to themselves as such could have meaning also. Sighing deeply she moved on and away from the docks, setting out to try and find this group or Ky. Anyone at all that could help her in her goal for the time being.

* Seems theirs something big and interesting going on here for certain but who all will show up.. *

She was really curious to find out if anyone from the other world had made it and was going to show up or had any part in this little excursion. For all she knew no one else had been on the ship with her but she crew had done a great job of keeping her out of prying eyes as it was. She would look back once more to the Docks, wondering if maybe she was the last one off the ship as even the crew had been thinned out a bit since she left it.

"Stupid machines... Always gotta be so loud..." This was the only thing Zolanius Thyre had said upon taking spot in the engine room, probably the loudest room on the ship. The churning and grinding of the motors and machinery was nearly constant, and made Zolanius uncomfortable enough to wander in and out of the area. He was dressed in what would be a simple maintenance uniform, dirty, worn and covered with spots from dirt and oils. The only reason he'd be here is because of K138Y, the summoner he was escorting as a guardian. She had received notice of something happening and whatever crazy event it was, it had interested her. Zolanius, true to his word of being her guardian, would follow her. Though it was supposed to be a matter of stealth, Zolanius hid in plain sight in the one room that only him and probably four or five other maintenance people would frequent. Tucked in a corner and well hidden, he had stashed his gear that he was always more comfortable with. Plus that sword was far too important for him to leave behind. Once the ship would come to a halt and given the all clear, Zolanius would switch clothes and make his way towards the docks, waiting for K138Y. It was there that he'd see Rena. So the entire gang is here. At least this shouldn't be too boring.

Current Event: Angel Fall
Current BGM:

Travel by water, No Name had never been a fan of it. At least that he remembered anyways (though in all honesty that wasn't saying much). Whilst it was completely possible that in a previous life he had been a sailor, or a fisherman, the feeling he got whenever he rode in one of these things made him highly doubt that was the case. To him these ships were little more than steel death traps, buying a ticket was akin to paying for your water bloated corpse to wind up either washing up somewhere, or being eaten by the fish who were that way inclined. For others the fate of their corpse,or indeed how they died at all wasn't really so much of an issue. But for No Name, who would awaken hours or days after...how he died was very important.

For him, the idea of waking up half eaten at the bottom of the ocean and then dying once again of drowning was something he'd rather not experience. A stab wound, a gunshot....flesh eating bacteria. Anything was preferable to that. None the less this job in Vector was the highest paying mercenary position around, and this wasn't just about the money...a job like this carried with it weight, respect. That was worth more than all the gil in the world for a mercenary. He was slummed in an uncomfortably close position with a female Lucavi, his face remaining stotic but blushing throughout the trip.

All would emerge from the docks and those who were part of the mission were kind of easy to pick out. Number one was the Lucavi girl who had been the burden of his trip, the next seemed to be some kind of robot. The other two seemed relatively normal bar the differences in clothing. He unlike some had kept his clothes intact, being an official member of the mercenary guild he had already gotten a cover story for entering on the ship as someone hired to guard its inhabitants from pirates.

" So I'm assuming you are all here for the 'big fish' they landed around these parts?, Sailors were a bit sketchy on the details. "

K138Y was shocked to see some familiar faces. Rena had made it, she had needed take care of finding her airship and K138Y had been unable to go with her even though she would have liked to do so. Zolanius, who had joined along side her while proclaiming it was his duty as a guardian and which meant he was certainly up to the task. Lorenzo, at least she thought it was him based on his face but the crew disguise made her a bit uncertain and she would need a better look, it had been quite a while since she had fought by his side in Bevel. She gave a friendly wave towards Rena, calling her over towards herself and Zolanius since she had seemed to wander a bit further off than everyone else. K138Y was also going to try and flag over the familiar looking crew member but stopped when a white haired man seemingly addressed them all but in a strange manner. He had gotten off the ship so it was unlikely that he was either from Vector or part of The Returners. It was almost like he was trying to speak in code to perhaps avoid talking to the wrong people however, though now that she thought about it Rena and herself stood out like a sore thumb so attention attracting was probably imminent. Anyone looking to meet up for the job would probably assume they were on the case first and foremost. She decided the best thing to do was respond in a similar manner.

"I'm certainly here to get a good look at it, stranger. Catch like this doesn't happen every year so I imagine it's attracting allot of attention around the world. You wouldn't happen to know a direction to point a woman in would you?"

Probably not the best way to have a conversation but this whole undercover thing was new for K138Y, as well as a bit exciting. At least she hadn't formed a large reputation in this New Gaia yet, so no one would really recognize her. Though she probably should have at least tried for a disguise. But what was done was done, now it was time to figure out just what to do next. The white haired man could be their contact she supposed, though it seemed far more likely that he was just another mercenary who figured someone needed to break the ice if they were all going to be partners on this journey. Probably best to be nice and friendly with him either way so K138Y stuck her had out to shake his then introduce herself.

"My names K138Y," might as well introduce the others too, though not Lorenzo as she still wasn't sure if that was him or not and didn't want to make a mistake. She gestured first to her female guardian then the male. "This Rena, and Zolanius. How about you stranger?" She regretted introducing the other two right away. With a mission like this she should leave it up to them to reveal their identities or not. What if they had wanted to use aliases? To late now, hopefully neither of them were upset about it.

What was meant to be a short trip from one continent to another, turned into an ordeal the woman was not prepared for. Just born and quiet wet behind the social ears, she was taught a painful lesson on the etiquette of crowds.

There was no such thing.

Had it not been for her knowledgeable companion guiding her way, she sincerely doubted she would have been able to reach her destinations at all. Which, in fact, she hadn’t the slightest idea where she was going. It was literally a matter of not standing in one place for too long unless she wanted to invite the crass crowds. The poking, the prodding, the general unrest of people alarmed and them taking it out on an unknown civilian. Even if she by rights could not be called that.

Suffice it to say, she was disturbed by the meander through Midgar, and was all for the progress to this region called Vector. There had been word of a fallen ‘something’ in the area, which for one reason or another perked the interest of her little flying friend. He was all too eager to guide his mute companion along, jumping from transport to platform until they reached the docks of Midgar. Were it not for the map in her little resource book, the nameless woman would have been lost in knowing what the port was… and of course, its purpose. Upon her birth, if she were to make a guess as to where her path would lead, she wouldn’t have thought it would be stuffed like a piece of cargo on a boat…

But her path would find stability of sorts, mainly when the rolling havoc of a vessel at last reached it destination. The dark-haired woman was all too eager to disembark, mainly due to the fact that sensation of churning was not something she enjoyed. Her companion on the other hand, seemed much more at ease. Taking her first steps from the boat into the new light was such a wonderful feeling that she fell to her knees… and proceeded to expel the contents of a chocolate cake.

No grace, no grandeur. No ambitions to explore. Just an upset stomach and a weak constitution.

Current Event: Angel Fall
Current BGM:

Now that everyone was off the ship they would get their first look at Vector, this dock was in a small town; security lax and guards already well bribed. Despite their odd appearances the group would be able to pass among the people without much problem. There was a pub overlooking the docks, from this pub a rather glitzy individual emerged, by his clothing he was clearly nobility and yet seemed to approach you all without much hesitation. For the moment the only two who had actually bothered to interact were the robot K138Y and the white haired mercenary.  Catching onto the code they seemed to be using the man would announce himself to practically everyone within earshot. " Ah I see the ship has finally arrived!, it’s about time you all got here...the 'Big Fish' is beginning to smell". At this point, pretty much everyone should have caught on to just what he was talking about...if not...well then there were more problems ahead than just finding the Returners.

" Indeed you are all actually quite late! It was landed not far from here over a month ago and still no one has moved it...though the fisherman have put up quite a lot of tents all around the corpse...almost like a circus down there!".

Unless people were slow to catch on this man was clearly the returners contact, though it did give you a bit of insight into how Vector was run. Usually nobility were the last ones to push for revolution, though it seemed that the Empire had many enemies even among the rich. From what he was saying the meteor had yet to be moved and the crash site was nearby though well-guarded.  " Oh now where are my manners, I am Edgar Roni....perhaps some of you may know of me? Ah but trivialities aside...if you are here to move that demandable fish then it would be my pleasure to make sure you all get there". How long this fish metaphor would go on for....well as long as it took to get out of sight it seemed. Though the guards were bribed they probably weren’t bribed enough to ignore outright rebellion in their midst.

As for Edgar, those who knew of Vector (or K138Y who had the majestic power of the Moogle Search engine) would know that Edgar Roni was the name of the current King of Figaro. If indeed the man standing in front of you was a King, this rebellion was clearly much more well-funded than previously thought.  Edgar would wave a hand and head into the pub gesturing all those gathered for this purpose to follow him.

Onto the last person off the boat though, the strange girl and her moogle companion. Whilst she was heaving her guts out it was the moogle had been listening to the dandy man in her stead. Since arriving in Gaia the moogle had been her eyes ears and tongue, and had at least managed to piece together some of what the man had said through the information that they had been given at the Midgar dock. Mogum had originally thought that he would come here just to check out the meteor, but in order to do that he'd had to agree to do some spying work, though it wasn't the shadiest thing the innocent looking being had done his concern for his partner rose considerably. He would pet Alpha on the back lightly, staring down at the molten mess of chocolate that had once been his favorite treat.

" Well kupo I guess you didn't crash with the airship kupo...I don't think we would have been able to beat that big plant if you'd been like this kupo....com'on lets follow the man"

She would turn looking back down the dock to where the ship was, seeing others getting off of it as she smiled at the sight of Ky exiting the ship. It was only moments later that Zolanius left the ship also, followed by others but the last one she could really make a real recognition to was Lorenzo. She didn't really know if it was the Lorenzo from the old Gaia or this new version of it but she was bound to find out as she smiled walking back down the dock towards the group. Upon Reaching Ky she would smile and lean in giving her a hug, but at the same time whispering to her a moment.

* Play along.. whatever you do.. *

Breaking the embrace she would move further down the docks, in the worst case scenario of what she was doing he'd push her away with no knowledge of her at all. On another one he may question if she had him confused and maybe she wasn't who he may think she was, either way as she approached Lorenzo she held her arms out and suddenly as she had with Ky would embrace him in a hug. Lifting him off his feet a moment before setting him down and speaking out clearly for him.

* Darling! What took you so long, I expected you to arrive long before myself and the others.. you shouldn't leave your wife hanging as you have but to think you were on the ship the whole time, Honestly now. *

Stepping back a little to look him in the eyes, she merely smiled as her tails swayed ever slower behind herself. She figured if anything at all that he may question some proof of this Fake marriage she had just made up, that she could show the tail ring that was still bound to one of her tails as the wedding ring it's self, either way though he may come to the actual conclusion that they were married in the world at current and had him confused with the other Lorenzo that for all she knew was no longer on this world. Standing their long enough to see his reaction or get his answer before someone new made themselves known, going on about them being late as she would turn and run up to Ky and the group to meet the man. Listening to him going on about some Big fish as her ears twitched a little she would smile looking at Ky.

* I'm glad I was able to catch up, thought I may have to roam all over vector looking for you *

She had to guess this man was whom they were meant to meet up with as he finally introduced himself as Edgar Roni, an interesting name but she didn't know him and figured she would rely on Ky's ability to gather digital information for find out something more about him.

* I would say judging by the fact theirs a circus we should attend it as soon as possible, interesting things are afoot here what do you all think? *

Asking the group as a whole when she turned to look over them all, taking in their faces including No Name who had been eying her a little bit while on the ship to begin with. Shifting on her foot paws she looked to Zolanius as well.

* think your ready to probably get in some big trouble? *

Asking her question merely on past experiences when it came to dealing with things in other countries or in general bad things that always seemed to hang around places she had been.

Spoiler:

Lorenzo stood upon the dock. He took off the sailors' jacket, reveal his everyday clothes beneath, and glanced around for anyone who would look like a contact.  There were two people who clearly were other mercenaries, his allies in this quest? Or his competition?  It didn’t matter, honestly; he wasn’t here for the money.  There stood another figure that, he couldn’t tell, but he thought was another mercenary.  He paused, watching her for a moment… she had shiny hair, that almost didn’t look like hair, and something about her felt familiar.  He thought he had seen her before… but she was facing away from him, so he could not be sure.  A second young woman, came out of nowhere and hugged the first.  And this girl, he absolutely recognized.  Rena Cleareyes.  Or was it Clearwater?  She looked his way, and their eyes met.  He stood looking into those eyes from across the dock for a moment… no, her name was definitely Cleareyes… She turned, and walked right for him.

Lorenzo was forced to think back to when he had first met Rena.  The only time he had met her, really.  It was during the battle against the Solomon’s Key.  It was one of the biggest fights of his life, and it was his very first introduction to The Blight.  Rena supplied water to the other warriors that were with them, while they marched across the Dessert That Wasn’t There, as he calls it.  Essentially, the blighted monster, the Solomon’s Key, turned the entire inside of the Zanarkand Dome into a massive recording sphere, and then fed false images into the warriors’ minds.  The dessert where the final battle against the Key took place was one of those images.  He remembered thinking she stood out among the warriors there as someone who was not as taken about by the news Belzera and Ruien seemed to be giving them.  Did she already know about the multiple Gaias and the Blight?  It was hard to be sure, but whatever the reason for it, her demeanor allowed her to stand out more vividly in Lorenzo’s mind, while some of the other warriors of that day, he had forgotten entirely.

But, of course, that begged a question… WAS this really the Rena Cleareyes he had fought alongside with?  Or was this simply the Rena from this version of Gaia?  Did Rena even exist in this version of Gaia?  It was all very confusing.   But, judging from how she was marching right for him, he assumed she had recognized him, which meant… she was indeed the Rena he knew.  He was about to say hello, and comment on how odd it was to see her in a place like this.  Not only a slum in a weird country, but on a completely new plane of existence.  But, before the words could leave his mouth, she had addressed him.  Darling?  WIFE?  Lorenzo’s throat closed up, as though the word of hello he was about to say had stopped halfway up it, and was physically caught in his throat.  What in Hyne’s name was she talking about?  Could it be that there existed a Lorenzo in this world too? And could it be that the Rena of this world, and the Lorenzo of this world were married?  Impossible… well… Improbable, at least, with the billions of people on the planet… it made no sense. What was going on?

As he stood there stunned, Rena embraced him tightly even going so far as to lift him off the ground.  But the hug made Lorenzo realized something.  He could feel her warm soft silky skin pressed against his right arm, and he could feel absolutely nothing in his left arm.  He had almost forgotten that he didn’t have a left arm, at least not one of flesh and bone.  And, there was absolutely no way the Lorenzo of this world (if he even existed), would have the same prosthetic arm.  If this girl really was his wife, then surely she’d know this… But, if they weren’t together, then why would she do this?  Clearly, this was the Rena from his own world, who recognized him, and was playing a prank of sorts on him.  Well, two could play that game, sweetheart.

Lorenzo wrapped his own arms around Rena, returning her romantic embrace, and even took it a step further, kissing her full on the lips, smiling ear to ear.  “Oh, Rena, my love! I am so sorry to have kept you waiting! Some of the lads asked if I could help them unload some of their wares, and you know me, I always want to help out.” As he said this, he released her, and took off the goofy sailors’ hat he had been required to wear, the last part of his disguise, tossing it aside.  A smirk spread across his face, as he was anxious to see what Rena thought of THAT!  But he was snapped out of his childish game as their contact from The Returners made himself known.  Surprisingly soon after they had arrived, too.  Rena walked away, to rejoin the other woman she had hugged earlier.  Lorenzo, not wanting the joke to die just yet, followed her.  He stood beside Rena the entire time Edgar was speaking, his arm wrapped around her waist, just above the tails.

And, now that he was closer, he recognized the other young woman as not a woman at all, but rather a robot.  The same robot he had fought alongside during the battle of Bevelle, when he lost his arm.  Lorenzo didn’t even question whether or not she could be this world’s equivalent this time either, not after seeing Rena here.  So, with himself, Rena, and now this robot, there were at least three of them from the previous Gaia… were they special?  Lorenzo had always assumed he had been saved by The Great Hyne, but why had these two been spared?  Lorenzo certainly wasn’t complaining, of course.  He glanced over at Rena again. It was nice having friendly faces in this strange new world, even if he had never really thought of them as friends before.  As he stood there with her, arm at her waist, her gently swaying tails brushed against his arm, and he couldn’t help but think that these tails were a lot smoother and softer than he had thought at first…

He was snapped out of it by the Returner contact speaking to the group more openly.  He was Edgar Roni, a name Lorenzo was sure he had heard before, but had no idea where or why it was familiar.  He spoke of the “Big Fish” (a phrase used by one of the other mercenaries as well, though Lorenzo had dismissed it as being small talk).  Clearly this fish metaphor was referring to the object that had fallen.  He also referred to a corpse, stinking up the crash site… Lorenzo couldn’t tell if this was a continuation of the fish metaphor, or if he meant a literal corpse, perhaps of a certain Sorceress… ah, but that would be wishful thinking… No, likely he was just implying that their target had remained untouched for some time.  The man then gestured towards a nearby bar.  A place to speak in private and be fully briefed?  It would seem likely.  There was a brief silence among those gathered there, broken by Rena.  Were they ready to get into trouble, she asked.  Lorenzo thought for a moment.  Assuming he wasn’t already in trouble for holding her the way he was, was he ready for more?  Well, he was here to take down the single biggest threat to all the world, barring perhaps the Blight, so yeah, he was ready for anything.

Current Event: Angel Fall
Current BGM:

It became abundantly clear to him that the people who had gathered here were not professionals, in fact the only one that even caught onto his code talk was a robot woman. Now this was new, he lived in Midgar which he considered to be rather advanced when compared to the other less developed region of the world and yet he had never seen something, or someone like this.  Regardless the technology that went into this woman whilst impressive had little to do with the mission and she simply confirmed that she too was here on the same mission. At this point she introduced herself giving her name and or designation asking him for his own...that one presented a bit of a problem.

" Johnathan Nicht, pleased to meet you"

At that point their contact would make themselves known, a fancily dressed man who appeared to have at least caught onto the code. If nothing else the use of the code by the Returner at least confirmed his suspicions about the idea that they weren't quite safe discussing something like this in the open. The others became to interact in a rather strange way, the Lucavi girl he'd been stuck close to in the ship appeared to be the wife of another man on the mission. Whilst it wasn't uncommon for him t see inter-species marriages he'd never quite seen someone who had been willing to marry a Lucavi before...often it came with...complications.

Speaking of complications though the high pitched voice of a moogle drew his attention to nearer the ship to who appeared to be the last member of their merry band. The girl who he had met on the taxi cab over in Lindblum; he had been there investigating the disappearance of Princess Garnet, unfortunately she never showed at Dragons Gate and before he managed to search the rest of the city he had recieved the call that had brought him here. Approaching the girl and her moogle companion he noticed that she seemed to have the same issue as him when it came to travel by sea. He would remove an item from his light brown overcoat and presented it to her with an open palm. " Mints". He stated, an re-introduction enough. " They'll help take the taste away".

There was allot happening all at once. Rena had given her a hug and whispered to play along, with what became quickly clear as she ran up and hugged the man who K138Y was now certain was the same one she had fought alongside in Bevel as he took off his coat and had a metallic arm. He had sacrificed his arm back in Bevel in order to defeat the fragment creature. For whatever reason the two hadn't exchanged names, everything had been happening rather fast though at the time. Considering that the Other Gaia took place five years in the future from this one it was probably the same person. A third member from the Other Gaia. K138Y had to struggle not to laugh, to the point of having to make it an internal command, when Rena hugged him and declared herself his wife. K138Y was nearly completely certain that she wasn't married, the whole thing was probably a test on her part. She tried to block out the joke for now and focus on the man before her who introduced himself as "Johnathan Nicht". The coded conversation would have continued from there but a man came out of the bar and picked up the code himself. Clearly the self introduced " Edgar Roni" was the contact they were sent for. K138Y ran a Moogle search on the man and the description matched, meaning he was at least who he claimed he was. Strangely only Rena acknowledged Edgar though. When Rena addressed the group K138Y was going to match her enthusiasm.

"Yeah!..I..uh" She was distracted by the sight of her once ally holding to the waist of Rena. The joke seemed to be backfiring and K138Y didn't want to see her guardian taken advantage of over a silly joke. But Rena could handle herself and K138Y had to respect that. "..I say we get going right away. If the corpse is starting to stink it would be only be worse by morning in the all revealing sun. The sooner we arrive the better." The sun bit was to attempt to point out that a cover operation would be easier at night. Clearly keeping up the code was a good idea if even the contact was doing so. "What do you say Edgar? Have any transportation in mind or is it the shoelace express from here?"

Looking around she spotted John, which K138Y figured she would give a shot at calling him since Rena had always shortened her name to Ky from the moment they met. It had made her feel more on a level of friendship with Rena from the start and John seemed like the kind of guy that would make a good ally if not a friend. John was currently soothing another woman who was vomiting over into the ocean and appeared to be accompanied by a Moogle. Was she another highered hand or was John just trying to put the moves on a damsel in distress? Now didn't seem like the time for a weak stomach or to be flirting with the locals. To each their own, so long as it didn't interfere with the mission at hand. Though right about now K138Y was feeling as though she was the only one who was staying on task. Rena and Metal Arm had their little pseudo romance going on, John was consoling a damsels in distress, Zolanius was...where was Zolanius? He had been awfully quiet so far. Then there was K138Y who just wanted to get on with the job, they didn't look like a well organized team so far.

And initial meal of chocolate cake followed immediately by the rolling sensation of the sea, did not for a happy woman make. She was glad that her first taste of this world was a delectable treat like that of chocolate, but she found rather quickly that she did not enjoy the taste of it coming back up. It was a vile taste that burned her lungs and brought the tears of bitter discomfort to her eyes. Were it not for her companion, she would have thought the bitter sensation was ill-consolable, however his gentle paw and ministrations meant this was not so.

She took a moment to regain her breath having taken a knee to stabilize herself. She felt weak when empty, void of all else but the essence that made her. Even the bile as it came up was dark with molten chocolate. Following a series of dry heaves she caught her breath and reclined, falling back on her strange legs but not before catching something malleable and round beneath her. She jerked back to look around, but found something under her rear, though as she had before, there was the glimpse of something round. There, then gone, as if it hadn’t existed but as a figment.

However what was real before her was an image of grey and white. The pale flesh of a hand extended towards her with something small and round there in. Mints? She eyed the small things with caution not because of what it was… but because of whom presented it to her. She didn’t believe she would see the man again after the cab. Then again, it was by a strange coincidence that her little companion’s path was to follow him. Perhaps the little one DID know this man.

She eyed the offering like skittish prey in the presence of a predator before eventually taking the mints. She sniffed it lightly then popped it into her mouth, squinting immediately at the astringent taste it roused. At least she didn’t taste the bile any longer. Whether it was an offer of not, she took his wrist as a kind of leverage and pulled herself to stand while brushing the bits of dirt from her knees. She smiled, if not awkwardly, in thanks with a dip of her head in maintained gratitude. From her own little spot of ground she looked to the group just a little ways ahead. Their apparent camaraderie enforcing a maintained air of distance on her part. Call it a lack of social grace, if one would. Afterall, a newborn was not meant to trust everyone and all.

As they stood, finishing listening to this Edgar Roni fellow, and Lorenzo came over slipping his arm about her waist. She was brought back for the moment to the Kiss moments before, having felt and gotten close enough to find out that his scent was from old Gaia, and it helped that he had a different arm then what she would assume was capable at this point. Her tails swaying it was when Edgar motioned for them to head to a nearby bar that she would turn and look at Lorenzo directly. A soft smile on her face she turned stepping close directly in front of him, curling her tails up around his sides and back a bit she would reach down with one hand, and grab his crotch. Holding his nuts through the cloth and all and squeezing enough to give a shocks of pain to his groin she would lean in and whisper to his ear.

* If you knew I was from Old Gaia when I came over.. then you shouldn't have pushed the game further.. Try a kiss like that again and I'll take you back to the former world myself *

A soft growl passing her lips before she released him, and smiled still stepping back a little as she looked to Ky.

* Think we should get moving then also Ky? *

A simple question but a good one she looked to Lorenzo again, her tails swaying slowly behind herself as she stepped back a little. The least she could do would be to keep up the charade for the time being, turning from him as she had stepped back.

* Well.. you get whatever you need for the journey ahead.. We can all talk shortly after all Since i'm sure you have information you can share Darling... *

Sticking her tongue out just a little as she was a few feet away she looked to Ky and Zolanius before turning to head towards this bar, wondering a bit on what other information they could be given after all. She couldn't complain though a job was a job and it helped get herself and the Pilgrimage on a well funded path in the meantime, she would have to remember to ask Ky who she was doing the investigation for as well though. At this point she was still lost as to what governments were working against, with and for who. Walking along she would head towards this bar, though she was with Ky on getting moving while it was dark out as in daylight they could be watched easier.

* Some sort of large creature or being crash landed here it seems.. or at least is what I gather considering how he'd mentioning it.. and with the radio transmissions I picked up while.... in midgar. *

Merely using midgar as to where she heard it even though it was while she was collecting her airship. Her foot-paws fell almost silently as she made it to the bar and headed inside to find a table, looking back for the others that would surely follow. She had almost forgotten the others that were on the dock, but thinking on it remembered the other person whom had been staring at her went back for the younger girl that was losing their meal at the dock, surely they must be part of this newly forming group also but she guessed that too would be answered shortly.

Spoiler:

Edgar had turned to enter the bar, and all the other mercenaries they had arrived with were pre-occupied with others on the dock, no one was watching Rena and Lorenzo now, except perhaps their mutual robot friend.  And, as soon as the others’ eyes had turned away, Rena approached him.  Their eyes were locked onto each other, and a warm smile was on Rena’s lips as she drew nearer.  Lorenzo was a bit bemused, but he returned the smile nonetheless.  She wasn’t angry or offended? She was smiling?  Could it be that she had actually enjoyed the kiss?  Well, he had to admit, it was pretty amazing… but even so, this was unexpected.  For a moment he thought they were going to kiss again, as her tails gently wrapped around him, pulling him closer, and their lips were mere centimeters apart.

Then, pain.

She had grabbed his crotch roughly and squeezed.  Not enough to do any real damage, but enough to make his eyes water a little bit.  Kinky.  Not really the type of bedroom play he was used to, but he was open-minded so long as he was with the right person.  If she were squeezing just a little less, it might actually be enjoyable, but as it was, it was extremely painful, and he barely managed to keep his smile in place as she whispered menacingly at him.  Kiss me like that again, and I’ll send you back to the former world myself.  Well, he had already pieced together that this was the Rena he knew, but it was always nice to have confirmation.  Though it seemed he was wrong, and she most certainly did NOT enjoy his little prank…

She released his boys, but stood there near him for a moment, releasing a low growl at him.  He could have sworn there was more to the noise than just a growl, though… like there was something else mixed in with the growl… almost like a purr.  He was probably just imagining it.  Either way, she finally stepped away, and addressed the robot for a moment.  When she turned back to him, Lorenzo was surprised that, despite her menacing words, she was maintaining the marriage act.  Which Lorenzo was completely fine with; he was having fun, despite the pain in his pants.  She had asked him to hurry up and gather what he needed so that they could start their meeting, saying that she was sure he’d have things to contribute.  So, she had pieced it together, had she?  Yes, Lorenzo was Estharian, and she knew that.  And, Esthar was the country that had initially discovered the meteor, and had sent out the warning to the world.  Even though it wasn’t the same Esthar that he was from, it would make sense to assume that Lorenzo might know a little bit more about this meteor than the others would.  Yes, he most certainly would have something to contribute to this upcoming conversation…

“Oh, not to worry, my Love, I have all I need right here.” He said, patting his pack, and following her towards the door.  Rena had stuck out her tongue at him as she called him “Darling”.  Just slightly, not enough for the others to notice.  And Lorezno returned the favor, winking as he called her “my Love”.  He paused next to their robotic friend.  “Aren’t I just the luckiest man alive?” He asked, trying to draw the robot into the joke as well.  He then turned, and followed Rena inside, to a small table in the back corner of the bar, away from prying eyes.  The bar was almost entirely empty, except for Edgar, Rena, and himself, and Lorenzo took the opportunity to mess with Rena still further.

He took a seat right next to her, and immediately grabbed her hand, intertwining his fingers with hers.  “You know…” he whispered in a seductive voice, leaning in, so that his breath blew gently across her pointed ears “if you really wanted to cop a feel, you only had to ask.  I saw a nice little hotel down the road.  Perhaps after we take care of business, we can… take care of business…”  He leaned back again, and turned to Edgar, though he continued to watch Rena from the corner of his eye to see her reaction.  “My apologies.  My wife can be quite… insatiable, at times.  I’m so sorry; you must think we’re newlyweds or something.  Anyway, my name is Lorenzo, and I would be what you might call a... ichthyologist.”  It took Lorenzo a moment to think of the right word.  Ichthyologist, a scientist who studies fish.  A bit of an arrogant title to give himself in this situation, but if the Fish in this metaphor was Adel, a Sorceress, then yes, Lorenzo was absolutely an expert.

Current Event: Angel Fall
Current BGM:

Edgar would lead the party into the pub, though his face was rather beguiled at the look of the group in front of him. In truth he didn't know quite what to make of them all, they were an interesting bunch certainly...but warriors...well that had yet to be proven. Assuming that the crotch grabbing antics would finally cease and the others would follow him in Edgar would head towards the back of the pub and enter what appeared to be a private room. Before entering he would answer K's question. " Neither, it'll be a nice surprise. Trust me". Once you had all finished doing whatever distractions seemed inappropriate he would stand above what appeared to be a trap door and turned in order to explain the situation without having to use code.

" This bar is the main hideout of the Returners Movement outside of my Kingdom, welcome! Not long ago our people sent out a series of broadcasts that have been quickly shut down to all regions of the world giving a clue as to just whats been going on here. An object from space fell to earth near here and ever since the Empire has been holding a heavy presence in this town. Though this place is less important...rather what they've been doing with the object is of more concern, ever since it crashed we've been seeing new Magitek technology emerge. One of our men on the inside claims that the Emperor's adviser Kefka Palazzo has been using the space rock in new research and technology....the fact that its been progressing so quickly however...well we're not sure".

Edgar would bend down and grasp the handle of the trap door yanking it up. It would reveal a tunnel heading down with the faint sound of water coming from below. " Below this pub is a fresh water current that the Returners have used as transport in our more secretive operations. One of these currents will lead us to the crash site directly past all of the Empire's security checkpoints. Once we're there...I'm going to plant a bomb and blow that space junk straight to hell...the last thing anyone needs is the empire growing more bold, or powerful". He'd look around and then begin to climb down the tunnel. " If any of you have any questions. Ask on the way there. Last time my contact reported he said that there was going to be a large shipment of space rock sent to the research facility, I'm hoping to get there before they have a chance to mine it".

Once you all took your turn climbing down the ladder, you would find a crude series of rafts that had been put together for this task. You would need to split into two groups ( for battle party purposes), and thus would need to decide this among yourselves. One party would need to go on a raft with Edgar, the other would be flying solo and following behind.

[ SPLIT INTO A PARTY OF FOUR]

Example Party 1: Edgar, K138Y, Rena, Lorenzo< Not splitting up the happy couple =p
Example Party 2: No Name, Alpha, Mogum, Zola

Zolanius was being quiet for a reason. Beyond K138Y's sudden introduction, he'd handle strange meetings with naught but observation. Because if he were to learn anything, everything he would NEED to know would make itself known. And yet there was so much more than what Zola had in mind. The large man with a metal arm being the apparent beloved of Rena. That was out of nowhere, and a sort of let-down. Zola was a flirt, sure, but it's not like he could make moves now, out of sheer respect for the relationship. The way the two acted, it was as if they've known each other for years. Which made Zolanius immediately assume that this man was also of a different world, and he began to notice a pattern. All this strangeness around him was in most senses of the term, otherworldly.

Next thing was the noble, Edgar. It was odd to him to see somebody of such higher standing to be here at some docks to meet strangers. Normally this would mean that he wasn't too proud to do things himself, instead of sending people to meet the group. But then, this could also be the very reason why we're here. They could be rather short-staffed, so to speak, and need the hired muscle. And what's more, the first thing he had spoken of was fish, of all things. Besides the location, it was obvious that he was speaking in code, for the real mission at hand. This meant that there were eyes everywhere, and Zolanius didn't like being watched. He had lowered the brim of his hat to cover his eyes as he shifted to look in various directions. The Raven Shade had not made mention of interlopers thus far, but one couldn't be too careful. As for this Jonathan Nicht, new girl, and the Moogle that had appeared, Zolanius stopped paying attention at this point, for he was now assessing what he had gotten himself into.

Being called in by nobility as part of a rebellion involving space rock? It all seemed too straightforward, but this was Zolanius' paranoia kicking in. He's been in jobs like this before, but none quite so odd. And so when it was time to head under the pub, and upon seeing the rafts, he now decided to speak up. "We're splitting up? .... As K138Y's guardian, I suppose it wouldn't be proper to leave her side. But that's up to her, really. What say you, summoner?" He looks to K138Y for confirmation. It did not matter at this point still, who he traveled with, but part of him felt like travelling with Edgar. There's nothing wrong with attempting to be in good graces with somebody so high up in the social food chain. The one thing still in his mind though, was the mention of magitech and having to blow up the space rock. The practical side of Zolanius' thought process kicked in at this point, and it was the side that the Shade had supported. There was opportunity here, to acquire a couple of souvenirs, hopefully. And with that, a bit more power would always be nice.

Current Event: Angel Fall
Current BGM:

The girl took his mint though not without some scrutiny as to just what the item was. Though after eating it she seemed to trust him enough to take his hand in standing up, an action which drew the ire of her small fluffy companion. That feeling was there again though, this time though it was even stronger...the touch between the two seemed to have ignited something. " The dreams...the dreams of fire". That was it, that was the feeling....he felt the exact same thing when he went to sleep and dreamed of dark and death. He didn't understand it though, what was the connection to this girl when clearly neither of them had met?

The awkward silent stare and the gamless look upon his face was quickly interrupted by the moogle flying up in between them and staring at him with a stubborn frown. No Name would quickly back off (though more out of shock of the sudden break in his line of thinking) head moved to the side he looked back to see Edgar moving into the pub leaving him and the others behind. Truthfully though he wasn't sure why this girl was here, she didn't look like any kind of warrior and the fact her companion was a moogle probably didn't help the image. Though then again perhaps that was the point, a powerful force hidden behind an innocent facade. Still, he wasn't entirely convinced that she belonged here.

" Well...we should probably follow that guy.Assuming of course you are here for the same thing that I am... "

He would carefully side step around the moogle who at this point represented the same kind of threat that one might consider a bee or wasp.  He would offer his hand to the girl, and whether or not she took it would head in behind Edgar. The pub itself smelled heavily of old wood and intoxication, this was a region that was still in an industrial phase, not entirely as modern as Midgar. Places like this seemed to be where the difference was most obvious between the regions, modern states tended to have bars and pubs that tried to look clean, but still smelled of societies decay. On the other hand places like this; the old world pubs were dirty but at the same time smelled more of sweat and labor than piss and vomit. People here hadn't yet reached the peak of society, they had yet to experience the sharp fall that would come with their hard work crumbling beneath them.

The private room was different though, the smell from the main bar gone No Name could tell that here the walls were thicker, the door was heavier and far more sturdy than others within the building. Finally with the code dropped he could learn more about what the mission entailed....Edgar wanted to blow up the object that fell from space to prevent the Empire gaining any more military advancements from the rubble. Moral issues aside this job came down to one thing, he was going to be protecting this man whilst he did what he needed to do. Political complications aside that was the simple fact of it, all other things taken away that is all he was being paid to do. That and go on a rafting trip again. " Great" he thought to himself sighing inwardly "More water travel". Briefly he would look over at Alpha, and as he did so too would Mogum her moogle companion who would whisper "...Kupo...". In a depressed voice as they came down the tunnel and emerged at the raft.

No Name would echo the sentiments. " Kupo...kupo indeed".  They would all need to split up, and No Name took lead by going on the raft that Edgar was not on, despite the clear cut details of the mission he figured that the two teams needed an experienced leader should all shit fall down and presumably being the only member of the mercenaries guild present automatically promoted him to that rank.

"I'll take lead on this raft, I'd like the girl, the moogle and the guy with the gauntlet with me....unless there are any protests?"

Primarily he wanted the girl and the moogle with him because, well...he needed to investigate the cause of the feeling(and undoubtably the moogle would want to go wherever the girl went). As for the man and the iron arm, sexist as it might have been he wanted the crew of each raft to at least be evenly split when it came down to 'man power'.

A spark not of life but of thought crossed her mind as callused hand was graced by the marred flesh of the white-haired man. It was the first touch of another’s flesh she had taken, and she found with some pleasure that it was warm albeit strange. A touch she knew, but could not remember from where. The sensation seemed to slipped from her mind as the senses of her digits became acclimated to the pressure, the warmth, the overall feeling of a single hand. It became a ‘part’ of what she did and did not know, and in the simplest fashion, it brought her comfort.

Until the touch was broken by withdrawl and the crimson wings of her companion fluttered furiously in her face. Her mouth opened with a gasp, though no sound was uttered, only the slack-jawed visage until she reminded herself to set it closed again. The makeshift group began to move along the ways, and she along with it by the tug of the stranger’s hand. Since her birth, all she seemed to do was follow… something. But she found no reason to complain, at least not yet. Tapping her little Moogle lightly to follow as well, she walked the street toward the pub as directed by the loquacious man. His words, his mission meant little to her, this goal of his. She was but a spectator for the moment following the guide of her companion little for adventure.

As a group they approached a hidden path led to by a door and a ladder scaling downward. The dark did not alarm her… in truth… she welcomed it. She welcomed it easily as she had her companion. Just as easily as she had taken the stranger’s hand. However, she was not so keen to approach the rafts that waited for them. Why on earth did this venture require so much water?

Freed of her leash, she stood on more stable ground for a moment, looking from one odd group to the beginnings of another, then to her Moogle companion who remained at her leg. He pointed at the raft that held the white-haired man then hopped into the air to hover towards it. She followed regardless of her own apprehensions, doing her best not to tip the raft too much as she settled near its middle. Awkwardly she brought her knees toward her chest to make a kind of perch for her little companion to sit on. He gave her an assuring pat on the head then tried to distract her by taking out her resource guide and flipping through its many pages as they waited.

"Gak!"

That, of course, being the very literal noise that was made, as the boy seemed to come crashing through the ceiling. Of course, closer inspection would show that there was no break, no crack, nothing to let a boy fall in - but the Genome was not alone. He was accompanied by a swirl of Pyreflies, though they were muted, by comparison to the rest of those found in Spira - something wrong with them by sheer contact with the Blight in his body.

Still, the Pyreflies would be fine. They could fly. He could, too, on a good day...

Today was not one of those days. Ever since he came through that damned Gate, he found himself all but incapable of getting his act together. His teleporting came off wonky, and it was like his soul was unsettled. He couldn't figure out what exactly was causing this 'blockage', but he needed to get it fixed. Fast.

Of course, before he did that, he had to deal with the drowning.

His body hit the water with a heavy splash, landing before some rafts. The sputtering monkey-boy was floundering, making more noises similar to the one he'd made upon teleporting in. Thankfully he'd missed the earthen roof - it would have sucked to have been melded with the dirt. Not that swimming was much better - Asher hated getting wet.

"Bleaagh!" There were people, he could see them, boarding boats or something. Asher had to fight not to whine - he was a proud SeeD. SeeDs didn't whine. ( At least, they didn't under normal circumstances. There was a reason Asher didn't do the whole 'underwater sabotage' missions. They were absolutely abysmal, that was why. "Help! Swimming is hard!" Especially since he seemed to be weaker than he was used to. He didn't want to risk trying to teleport again - he'd been so off the mark that he'd managed to.. well... be here. Wherever 'here' was, exactly.

He thrashed, trying to get closer to the boats.

Okay - truth time? Asher couldn't swim. He hated the water, and wanted nothing more than to make it go away. Unfortunately, that wasn't happening... so instead, he just... floundered. "Throw me a circle thing! A rope! A freaking floaty-vest. Cast float! I can't swim!"

... Fine, SeeDs can whine when they're wet.

Sitting there she didn't have to wait long before others showed up, Edgar having pointed them where to go after all. She was still eager to just get on the move but looked at Lorenzo when he sat down and scooted close before taking her hand in his own, now she knew he was being a pain and couldn't help but flex claws out, squeezing his hand more then a fair bit harder then she should have. When Edgar would open the passageway down and to what sounded like a river, she would pull her grasp away from Lorenzo once again. Standing up she made her way to the entrance to this tunnel he spoke of and would begin to climb down, halfway letting herself slide as she went until her foot-paws touched the floor below. It was easy enough to tell the tunnel had been used for quite a while and the river with the rafts waiting, she would look over to NoName and the girl with the Moogle as they took spots on the front raft. Herself looking back to anyone else coming down when she heard a Splash, her ears twitching some she would walk to the rear boat and look in the water behind it. Seeing a figure in the water and sputtering about though not making a very good effort of staying afloat, a sigh would pass her lips as she even questioned the trip somewhat.

* Of all the things to do before even getting started.. honestly drowning.. *

She would rift-skip Asher out of the water and standing next to her as she placed a hand on his shoulder and pulled every last drop of water covering him from his form and clothing, patting him a little as she would look to his face a moment before smiling a bit before leaning over to whisper in his ear.

* I see You made it to this World also, glad you could join us even if a bit late. *

He had scents from the old world on him, along with the fact she had seen Asher before in journeys on the old Gaia. She wouldn't comment on his inability to swim after she had displaced him from the water to the solid ground, turning to get in the rear raft. She would take a seat at the back, letting herr tails hang over the back edge of the rafter and barely dip in the water. After all she was rather comfortable with such a liquid, she would wait for Ky and whomever else was going to join her but would make sure to drop Lorenzo in the water and leave him there if he continued with the charade of being married. She doubted sending him back to Old Gaia would fare well at all for him but she wasn't about to kill him for something she started even if for a test. Worst case for him would end up being dropped in the water with her beating him with his own arm, that seemed like a pleasant idea now that it was running in her thoughts.

* Edgar.. how long will it take us to reach the site by going through these tunnels? *

She figured it would be a valid question at this point all things considered, but she also wondered how much information Lorenzo or anyone else for that matter could give in however long it would take to get there.

K138Y didn't like the idea of going into the bar. Bars meant sitting down, drinking, eating, relaxing, and talking. She really just wanted to get a move on and not be required to sit around in some ruckus filled bar. Trying to put off going in she hung back at the door until everyone else went inside, even though Rena had invited her in before entering herself. The one armed man, who's name she still hadn't caught, tried to pull her into the out of hand joke by commenting on how he was the luckiest man alive. But K138Y wasn't going to join in, cracking jokes while on a serious mission just felt wrong. The last to enter the bar was John and the girl he was flirting with. It seemed the girl was part of the party, not just some random damsel he had picked up. Or at least K138Y hopped that was the case, some random pedestrian tagging along could get messy. But now that everyone was inside she followed suit.

Pleasantly enough the bar wasn't a huge messy ruckus as K138Y had feared. They even got a private room though it was a little cramped with them all in it. She was in the back of the crowd and couldn't see everyone but it looked like the joke with Rena and her 'husband' was still going on. Edgar gave his speal, apparently the "tents" mentioned in the code were referring to to the Empire guarding the crash site. The space rock seemed to lead to new Magitech technology. Did that mean that the rock was generating magic that was previously only available through Summons of some kind, or that was the way K138Y understood it? Or was the rock able to better maintain the magic extracted from the summon? Even more important, did this mean there was a summon at the castle? Picking up a summon while here would be more than she could hope for. No one else seemed to have anything to say about this so K138Y decided to keep it to herself. Edgar opened up a trap door in the room and everyone descended into the tunnel. Things were moving quickly and that was exactly how she wanted it.

Rafts would be the transportation here, shoty ones at that. Not exactly a chocobo but it would do for now. They would apparently be taking the underwater river to the crash site, planting a bomb, then getting the hell out of there. Simple, too simple for a whole team of higher-ons to be here. Considering the size of the boats it would be four and four, if you counted the Moogle as part of the party even though he took up next to no space and could float if he needed to. K138Y was still in the back and was therefore the last one down the ladder. John took the raft that Edgar hadn't, seemingly taking a leader like position. He asked for the girl he had been flirting with and the Moogle who both jumped right in, big surprise there, as well as "the guy with the gauntlet". K138Y liked this sorting as it would put a temporary end to the mirage joke. She went to say as much but was interrupted by someone falling through the previous floor, that was now the roof, and into the underground river. Rena leaped into action and saved him, it was good to see that she wasn't too distracted to be efficient. Rena got in the boat with Edgar and K138Y quickly followed. She grabbed Zola by the arm on the way down, giving the boat a full four people.

"Stick with me Zolanius, ought to keep up the Guardian duties." Rena on the other hand asked how long it would take to arrive. K138Y had other concerns to address. "I'd rather know what details your leaving out Edgar, not to accuse you of hiding something but by the looks of that bar you had plenty of helping hands. The mission as you briefed it sounds like a quick in and out bomb placement. What about this mission required the employment of eight outside individuals?" She wanted to ask about the probability of a summon being in the castle but figured it really wasn't the time.

Spoiler:

Lorenzo followed as the group filed into the tiny back room.  He was among the last to actually enter the tunnel, as he was nursing the cat scratches on his still fleshy hand.  If only he had been sitting on the other side of Rena, she would have clawed up his prosthetic, and he would be in a lot less pain right now.  But, then again, he also would not have been able to feel the warmth of her hand in his.  Totally worth it.  As he reached the bottom of the ladder, he dipped the hand into the water, and looked at the rafts.  It was like a bunch of children, the whole lot of them.  There were those afraid of water, those who refused to speak, those who wanted to play at being leader, those who claimed other companions as their own, and then, of course, everyone was turning to Edgar with questions, most of which were completely irrelevant.  How long will it take, why’d you hire us, do we have to travel by raft, blah, blah, blah.  Lorenzo certainly might have his goofy moments, but when it’s time for business, he’s all business.  He silently stepped onto the raft with the white haired man playing leader, the seasick woman, and the moogle.  This group would need his strength much more than Rena or his robot friend would.

He stood there atop the raft for a moment, looking back at the others, before reaching over, and grabbing Asher by the neck of the shirt and pulling him aboard to.  “Sit down, stay still.”  Asher was another face that Lorenzo had recognized from the old world.  They had both fought against the Solomon’s Key.  It was the same day he had met Rena as well.  Asher had seemed like a silly little kid in that battle too, but at least Lorenzo saw that he was a capable fighter.  Now, though, he clearly had no idea how to swim, so combat ability aside, Asher was more a liability at this point.  So was the tall woman, by the looks of it.  The moogle… well, he wasn’t sure what to make of the moogle; his species was typically thought of as being weak and diminutive, but he had met moogle hunters and warriors before, some of which were stronger than he was.  The white haired man… well, his cold and bossy attitude aside, he looked as though he could handle a fight.  If it came down to it, it would be up to Lorenzo and him to keep the other three on their raft safe.  Meanwhile, Rena and the robot warrior together would be more than enough power to keep back anything that came their way.  He supposed it was as good of a balance in power that he could hope for.  They were all set to leave.  Except for one thing…

“Before we push off, if I could say something…  As my lovely wife mentioned already, I have some information that may be of use here.”  Lorenzo was speaking loud enough for the entire group to hear him, but (after a quick wink in Rena’s direction) his eyes were actually locked on Edgar.  As the apparent brains of this operation, there was one thing that the King most definitely had to know before they headed into enemy territory.  “Esthar has many secrets.”  He paused, partially for dramatic effect, but mainly because he wasn’t quite sure how to word what it was he needed to say.  “Esthar’s technology is beyond anything any of you can imagine.”  He could imagine the robot, if not several others, rolling their eyes at this.  “Not to give away any of my nation’s biggest secrets, but… they have a prison of sorts… in space.”

This was a lie.  The Sorceress Memorial Shrine was not a prison.  More of a cryogenic sleeper pod.  There was no cell, no guards, no other inmates… just the Sorceress Adel, and several dozen layers of force fields and magical barriers.  But, they didn’t need to know just how far Esthar had gone to stop the Sorceress.  It wasn’t important.  “…and this meteor we are investigating… well, shortly before it crashed, it collided with... something... Considering that Esthar was the one who initially sent out the warning, and that they even went so far to break radio silence to do it... I have come to the conclusion that that something this meteor hit was Estharian in origin.”  Those present who were up to date on their world history might have pieced together where he was going with this.  After all, Esthar was famous for the way it disappeared from the face of the world.  And what event caused it to disappear…?  The Second Great Sorceress War.  “There... is a prison. In space. And inside this prison is... a certain note-worthy inmate... This particular inmate just happens to be the single most dangerous war criminal in the history of Esthar.  Quite possibly, the world.”  He was being very dramatic, but he was not exaggerating.  Sorceress Adel had succeeded in spear-heading a war that shook the entire foundation of the planet.

“I am speaking, of course, of the Sorceress Adel, the demonic spawn of evil, and a complete mockery of the Great Hyne!”  He had grown somewhat emotional at the thought of the Sorceress that had killed his family, but he managed to keep it in check.  “I do not know what we will find at this crash site.  A corpse, an empty prison cell, or Adel herself, alive and fully powered.  None of those things would surprise me.  And any one of those things would explain the Empire’s new weaponry… because, you see, Adel is so powerful, that even the residual magic in her containment unit would be enough to jump start the Empire’s technology by generations.  And that’s not to mention the Estharian technology leftover within the cell.  We must all be prepared.  This fish, may well just be a shark.”  He stood there for another moment, awkwardly… and then sat down on the raft, ready to go.  A weak end to a needlessly dramatic speech.  But, so long as the others, most importantly Edgar, understood what exactly it was they were facing, then it didn’t really matter to him what the others thought of him.  He was done playing games.

Current Event: Angel Fall
Current BGM:

Party 1
Edgar, K138Y, Rena, Zola

Party 2
No Name, Alpha, Mogum, Lorenzo, Asher

Despite the sudden unexpected arrival of the monkey boy Asher the mission would go ahead and continue as planned, though the second raft had an additional individual on board the moogle didn't really count for much on weight and thus it made no difference. The two rafts set off down stream with Lorenzo spouting his own theories on just what could be going on, Edgar would be quiet not questioning the logic of anything he said...at least to his face. He would bend down to K138Y and whisper " Is this guy some sort of super genius or something?...or is he just filled with speculation?". Regardless the trip would continue and Edgar turning attention off his more silent question would answer the direct one the robot woman had posed prior to them setting off.

" There are roughly 300 troops stationed around the object, so if something goes wrong that means we've got at least 37 troops to deal with each. Now if you think that eight people is too much, I'm going to try and take that as a vote of confidence in the abilities of the group....and Fox girl, it'll take about 20 minutes give or take...so get comfortable I guess".

Ten Minutes Later

There would be a slight bump on both rafts, which was odd considering that thus far the trip had been uneventful and smooth. Edgar would have a confused look on his face as he slowly reached for the oar just in case there had been a change in the riverbed. That's when Rena (whose tails are currently in the water) would feel something brush past her tail...something slick. Something slimey...something bad. Without time for a warning a large purple tentacle would rise up out of the water and grasp Alpha by the leg, constricting around it in a rather...thought provoking fashion.

Mogum, freaked out by the giant tentacle assaulting his friend yelled " KUPO OH MY GOD WHAT IS THAT KUPO". This shout would no doubt draw the attention of everyone even in the other raft, Edgar looked over, as a sense of familiarity shot through his features. "...Oh god its... A large bulging mass emerged from the water behind the second raft a mouth filled with fangs and tentacles...the purple monster would shout in a gargled tone.

" ULTROS!"

The second raft would be held back by Ultros as the first continued its way through the water. Edgar shook his head "We can't go back for them, we don't have the time....we have to continue the mission".

Battle VS Ultros
Battle Party: Slot 1, Slot 2, Slot 3, Slot 4 (< First come first serve on slots)
Battle Theme:Decisive Battle
Additional Rules: Asher is unable to use CA's due to his current befuddled status. However he can ATTEMPT to use a level 1 CA from his arsenal, dice roll will decide success. Mal will decide effect of CA.
